Two week hoiiday in lovely Cotswolds

Lovely cottage, location and wildlife on your doorstep with great dog walks. Lots of stairs and rooms spread out over the place, bit tight but made do.

We had a lovely stay at this gorgeous property. Everything was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. Beds very comfortable and loved the interiors throughout. Nice village coffee shop just 5 minutes walk away great for breakfast and open for evening meals.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic stay in a lovely Cotswolds cottage

We had a wonderful time staying here. The cottage has a quirky layout that gives it lots of character, and it was spotlessly clean, cosy, and really comfortable. The location is perfect – surrounded by beautiful countryside with plenty of great walks right on the doorstep. It’s also only about a 30-minute drive to The Farmer’s Dog (Clarkson’s Farm), which we really enjoyed visiting and would definitely recommend checking out. Overall, a lovely place to stay – peaceful, charming, and full of Cotswolds character. We’d happily come back!

Archway House was very quirky and beautiful. Everything you needed. Suggest hand rail for shower mat inside bath. So well designed. Stairs good for exercise.

Lovely cottage

We had a wonderful fime in this lovely decorated and comfortable cottage. There are some stairs to go but if you are in good condition this shouldn’t be a problem. We would definitely come for another time.

Perfect location

Archway house is gorgeously furnished and was spotless on our arrival. There's plenty of space and with a room either side of the cottage, it's easy to be in your own bubble while holidaying with friends. There's a great pub a stones throw from the cottage. The cottage itself is surrounded by rolling fields and gorgeous country walks

Lovely house, lovely location. The only slight disappointment was not being able to make use of the coffee machine that was there. It needed coffee beans and there weren’t any. I bet it would have made the most tasty coffee.

Lovely house in a nice setting. Area nice and quiet

Liked the decor and beds very comfortable. It should be explained that to get to each room you have to go up steps. Not ideal when carrying food etc. should have a table in the kitchen. The carpets were not clean and this was apparent after wearing white socks.

Loved the house but found the layout bit inconvenient, up and down stairs all the time, on four levels so not good for elderly. No table in kitchen to eat so had to carry food upstairs. But beds amazing and top quality equipment, everything you could need, and two lovely bathrooms! Good location as well, the only drawback was stairs, could have had breakfast bar or something in kitchen to eat. Ann’s found tv difficult to get main channels

Excellent - if you can manage the stairs

The apartment is well equipped with high quality furniture and appliances. The location in Blockley is excellent for the Cotswolds, and the site of the apartment is wonderful in a very quiet spot by a mill-stream. The conversion of the old building is very clever, but it does lead to some potential drawbacks. We were warned about the stairs, but there are a lot of them::the most difficult problem perhaps was the dining room being up several stairs from the kitchen. On a positive note we almost got used to the stairs issue after a few days, and we probably left more fit than when we arrived.

A delightful stay

Archway House is a spacious and delightful holiday cottage. It is set in a fabulous location close to the village centre but in a quiet setting. Parking is ample and easy to access. The accommodation is of a comfortable and high standard. It has 2 bedrooms served by separate bathrooms. It enjoys 2 private gardens so you enjoy the sunshine regardless of the time of day. The only quirk is the dinning room which is accessible via a short staircase although the ample kitchen could accommodate a small table and chairs. The only minor disappointment was that there is no ‘Welcome pack’. We arrived quite late in the day and the super village shop was shut so just take some initial provisions. Our only negative comment would be the cleanliness of the oven. Apart from these minor points the accommodation is great and we are likely to stay again,

Idyllic few days in Blockley

Archway House is a quirky pied-a-terre ideally located on the edge of Blockley. Its unusual layout is not for the faint-hearted! To go from each room to the next involves steps or stairs but this is part of the charm of the house. Everything is very comfortable and clean; the outside space is a lovely bonus and we'd like to return in better weather to make use of the garden areas. Blockley itself has lovely walks and an excellent cafe/community shop. Parking is at a premium in the village so it was good to be able to walk from the house. We only had a few days but managed to visit several National Trust properties; Chastleton House is a beautiful time capsule, and we also enjoyed Snowshill and Hidcote Manor Gardens. We attended a concert at The Fleece in Bretforton (the main reason for our visit) which we highly recommend for food and historic ambiance, as well as the warm welcome. We'd like to return and have more time to explore other villages in this lovely area.
