The property was stunning and as described in the perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. The house was clean, tidy and great for the relaxing weekend we had planned. Beautiful house in quiet village

A really lovely spacious house, very good quality furniture, linens etc. Very homely with lots of ornaments & spotlessly clean. Village of Longborough is quiet but also handy for most tourist attractions. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Wonderful stay in beautiful Cotswold village

Gorgeous cottage in a wonderful setting. Cottage was immaculate, plenty of tea, coffee, salt, pepper, toilet paper, kitchen roll. Quality of bedding and towels etc was superb (White Company). Everything had been thought of. Lovely village shop and café two minutes walk away. Extremely close to Longborough Festival Opera Would highly recommend Yew Tree Cottage for a group of 6-8 people.

Wonderful house and location

We stayed at this lovely cottage for a short break and were delighted with what we found. The house is beautiful - the pictures do not do it justice. It has a home away from home feeling about it. Extremely well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. Its location is perfect for visiting the beautiful Cotswolds villages most of which are a short 15-20 minute drive.

Perfect British Holiday

We had such a lovely stay at Yew Tree Cottage. We have rented properties in the Cotswolds before, but this one was truly special. Amazing, quiet (and extremely convenient) village, picturesque street, and the cottage itself had everything you could need for a cozy winter getaway. The kitchen is unusually large with excellent amenities including a heated floor. Everything exceeded our expectations and we would absolutely rent again.

Idyllic Cotswold Cottage

An idyllic cottage in the Cotswolds, the photos don’t do it justice. The location of the cottage is ideal being c.10 mins to all the key spots - Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton on the Water and the cottage has everything you need. The beds, linen and towels all feel luxurious and really feels like a holiday treat. I would happily recommend it and love to return one day!

Very cozy cottage in central Cotswolds location

We thoroughly enjoyed our time a Yew Tree Cottage. We shopped at the nearby grocery store in Stow-on-the-Wold and prepared breakfast each day for our family of five in the large and well appointed kitchen. The cottage was clean, very comfortable and large so we had room to spread out and relax. The cottage is centrally located in the Cotswolds which made it a great base and was also within easy driving distance of Oxford. We would love to return in the summer when we could enjoy the pretty courtyard garden. We highly recommend this cottage and will book again when we return.

Wonderful multi generational family holiday

We recently spent a wonderful family holiday in Yew Tree House, Longborough. We had a super time in a beautiful house, everything was very comfortable, very well equipped and beautifully furnished. Beds and linen were immaculate. The house has a courtyard garden with lovely furniture which we were fortunate enough with the weather to use most days. The location is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds. The staff at Bolthole retreats were friendly and helpful when contacted. We will definitely return.

Fantastic Summer Stay at Yew Tree Cottage

We had the pleasure of staying at Yew Tree Cottage for five days in Summer 2022. The property was fantastic, and far exceeded our expectations based on the description and pictures. The property felt even bigger than we were expecting based on the pictures, and it was meticulously cleaned throughout. The location was fantastic -- very close and accessible to popular towns like Stow, Bourton and Moreton-in-Marsh while itself set in a serene village with lots of fantastic walks nearby (and a great village pub!). Would not hesitate to rebook at Yew Tree Cottage, and highly recommend this property to others. We had a very memorable few days!

Perfect Cotswold Cottage

Yew Tree Cottage is as charming on the inside as it is on the outside. It is clean, sweetly decorated, has all the kitchen basics, comfortable beds and furniture. The downstairs is spacious and there is a lovely patio off the kitchen as well. Plenty of wood was provided for the wood burning stove. Longborough is a small, quiet village very well located as a base for exploring the Cotswolds. House instructions are clear and the owner was highly responsive. I highly recommend this house and hope to return to it myself one day.

Longing for Longborough

We stayed at this charming cottage in June 2025, 3 guests plus our pet dog for 1 week. The property is of a high standard and offers four bedrooms with two bathrooms. Please note the height restrictions on the second floor bedroom and bathroom are understated. Moving around this space for a week without bumping shoulders and heads is nigh on impossible as it proved. Situated in Longborough, this house is perfect for a family or group with a pet and access to a car as there are lots of nearby attractions and amenities to enjoy. What we loved most was the kitchen and courtyard garden which were perfectly sized for us to enjoy together. We would definitely return because Yew Tree Cottage is a lovely place to wind down and offers us everything we need. This cottage would be perfect for any party of up to eight travellers.

Costwolds retreat

We had a lovely stay at the Yew Tree Cottage! It's a beautiful, spacious, updated house! Wifi, TV, appliances worked great. Beds, bedding, towels very comfortable! There was also a lovely welcome lemon cake upon our arrival! Also enough hot water for us all to shower everyday! A few items that could be improved: - We were not supplied with any dishwasher tablets/liquid to use - We were not supplied with any kitchen towels/washcloths to wash or dry dishes - Given no air conditioning, would like more than 1 fan. Would reco at least 1 per bedroom. - Given the size of the house, kitchen and therefore size of guests expected, it would be great to have more bakeware, knives set, etc - had to essentially use every pan, dish, cooking ware each time we cooked a meal. Overall would definitely recommend staying here - just ensure the cleaning crew has provided the essentials!

Cotswolds Holiday

Yew Tree Cottage is a wonderful, spacious and beautifully renovated holiday cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this gorgeous cottage with fabulous living and kitchen/dining areas, off street parking, and we loved the fireplace!! Located in a friendly small village with a great local pub, nearby to many 'must see' villages. We definitely recommend this holiday cottage. Communications with the owner were always very quick and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Beautiful house in gorgeous village

8 adults and one baby stayed comfortably, although the two single beds are small in a tiny room. The master suite is gorgeous but beware of extremely low ceilings and steep staircase. Although the house was generally very clean, I spent a while with the extendable duster removing most of the ceiling cobwebs throughout the house. I did however leave the kitchen ones for Halloween! Caution with the boiling water tap, there needs to be a warning sign.

Made a great trip extra special

Firstly, the property itself: If you think it looks nice in the photos, in real life it is utterly beautiful. It's a seemingly impossible mix of old and new, cosy and spacious, rustic and contemporary. Located in the heart of a quiet, quintessentially Cotswolds town which isn't a through-road so has all but no traffic. Longborough has a great little shop and local pub, and is only a short drive from many popular towns and attractions. Secondly, the property management company: After various stays throughout the Cotswolds in recent years, properties by Bolthole Retreats are in my opinion a major step on from other property management companies. The presentation, cleanliness, little touches and the properties themselves always exceed expectation and make a break away even more special.

Back to the Cotswolds

We come to the Cotswolds area maybe 2 or 3 a year on our own or with family and we always have a lovely time. We stop in different places in the region sometimes in hotels , sometimes in cottages. This was our second stay in Longborough and our first stay at Yew tree cottage which was excellent for us and the family. Longborough is a very nice little village with a good little shop and friendly pub just a very short walk away. Good walks in the immediate area if you like walking and very central to get round to the different parts of the Cotswolds from.
