Nice hotel - horrible breakfast experience

The hotel accommodations were great. The beds, bathrooms, furnishings, etc. were all great. However, the breakfast was horrible and it was not well maintained for guests. There were a lot of families there for a swim meet….and it was chaos. The hotel needed more than one attendant to help cook, clean and maintain the dining area. Also, it was a poor breakfast - Hampton Inn can do better !!!

The room was a little dirty. I visited thw feont desk 2 times to ask for an extra blanket and pillow and I'm still waiting. LOL I visited the feont fesk twice and waited for at least q0 minuets but no staff ver came.

No power At hotel

When we got there to check in, there was no power. Stated it had been out for for hours and this was around 4:20 ish. We were given a room on fourth floor which we were walked up to with a flashlight. I asked if any rooms available on 1st floor. I was told no. We went to dinner and when we came back after stating I have vertigo, gave us a room on 1 st floor. No back up generator. Room was chilly. Needless to say, no shower. When asked if I would be fiven discount due to I conscience of no power was told no. Power did not come on until after 11 pm. Night staff was nIce and trying their best but morning staff were not. Why were we not relocated to another hotel ? I’m sure the Hampton owed a couple of other hotels in the area that had power. This was the university of West Virginia area.

Needs better housekeeping

Staff was super nice but the housekeeping needs to do better. Our room had a dirty makeup smeared comforter on it, coffee spilled on the counter, sticky substance on the end table and finger prints on everything. We were able to change rooms with no problem
