We needed a place to stay for one night so we could get a good nightâs sleep and get up early. The primary purpose of an overnight rental is a safe & comfortable place to sleep. This one bedroom garage apartment has bunk beds in the only bedroom. Then a couch that pulls out into a full size bed in the living room. My spouse and I gave our son the bed in the living room and took the bedroom, of course. We suffered. The room was extremely stuffy- the overhead fan and light did not have separate controls. There was an air vent that rattled persistently which at least gave my husband some relief on the top bunk when it blew air. The bottom bunk was stifling. Iâm not sure that I slept at all and my husband didnât get much. There was not a decent pillow in the house. We were exhausted on the next day of our trip. (We used to carry a fan with us but every rental we stay at has one so we stopped.) Between the lack of comfortable sleeping arrangements to the atrociously outdated decor, I think this is the most disappointing rental weâve had and certainly overpriced for what it is. Think âstuffy grandmaâs houseâ and youâve nailed it.
Absolutely perfect place. We were a little hesitant about sleeping on a pullout couch, but it was extremely comfortable and really fit. The host had so many little considerations that it felt like being in your friendâs house. Extremely clean every convenience you can think of.
Owner is nice, the property is clean and well decorated. The couch bed is like any other, not all that comfortable, but it worked out. Not many food options around and the only grocery store nearby is a bit overpriced.
My friend and I made a special trip to go digging for quartz and diamonds and this was the perfect spot to stay! Paula's space was very clean, convenient, safe, and thoughtful. She was kind enough to leave some tools for us to borrow for our dig and recommended a great spot for swimming!! Definitely would recommend to anyone making a trip to Mt. Ida and I plan to stay again in the future.
Amazing, comfortable and convenient! I have stayed in several places in the area the last few weeks and this is BY FAR the BEST! Honestly the pictures donât do it justice at all. It is on the smaller side, but so cozy and brand new with high end fixtures and features. Beds were very comfortable and there were many extra blankets and sheets available. Everything was available for coffee and any other items you need for your stay. FYI: there is only room to park 2 cars so not to block the garage doors, but this was fine for us. Also, there was an extra twin mattress in the closet that was very helpful to us! Hope this is available when we come to the area again!!
This is a wonderful, cozy, fully equipped apartment. The location is central to any adventure you may have. Wish I was staying longer! Hope to return again.
My husband and I loved staying at the upstairs hideaway. The first positive we noticed after arriving was that it was nice and clean. You can tell that the host took the extra time to make sure that even the small things were taken care of. Aside from the hideaway being so clean, it was a comfortable place to stay. It felt very safe and I was able to fully relax and sleep well while staying there. Checking in and out was a breeze and the host was very kind and down to earth.
Aside from the physical place that we stayed in, we were takenhe state of Arkansas is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend that everyone plan a trip to Arkansas and stay at the Upstairs hideaway when you go! You will not be disappointed!
