The only drawback was that it's not on deep enough water for a boat at low tide, and we brought ours (120 ft center console fishing boat), but there was no mention of this fact anywhere in the description of the property until you dug into a 4 year old review and saw that someone else mentioned this.

However, there are a number of concerns: the house was not clean even though we had to wait until 5:00 pm to check in due to “extra cleaning due to COVID.” There are also way too many items/nick nacks on counters, tables, and throughout the house. It was difficult to find space for personal items. For the price, this house should be more update and cleaned!

We have been vacationing in the Surfside/Garden City area for 6 years now, and recently started looking for rentals on the inlet. We hit the jackpot with this house. Tons of living space, dining, and entertainment spaces!! Has everything you could possibly need and more! There isn't a thing about this house that I would change. The homeowners have truly outdone themselves. We will be booking this home again, for sure!

New outdoor grill area was a plus . Wasn't the first and definitely not our last stay there !

Rocker broken in gazebo and overflowing trash in gazebo. Headboard in bottom floor room removed from one bed and left against wall. Had to call to get my sheets at 6pm. I also didnt know the owners replaced one queen with a king so I didnt have the right sheets ordered. Otherwise we enjoyed the house as we always have.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Marsh Oak was a lovely home to stay in. We enjoyed the short walk to the inlet pier. The refrigerator was wonderful except I think there is a condensation line stopped up or a small leak in the water line. We put paper towels down around the freezer to prevent damage to the floor. The back left burner on the stove was not working properly so you might want to check this out. Some of the nails on the side deck had come up so you had to be careful walking on it (there were just a few-not many).We noticed two of the railings had split. One was very loose and the other adjoining one looked like it was getting the same way. These were located across the deck as you came out the side porch door. I didn't know if I was to mention any of this to you or not. Everything was great though and we want to come back in the Spring of 2013 for 2 weeks.Thank you again for such a nice stay. We all had a wonderful restful time.

We love the location of this house, the view is breath taking.We have stayed here at least 5 times. The appliances have always needed to be updated. This summer I washed dishes all week, because there was a horrible smell in the dishwasher. When we opened it up there were also roaches. We were not able to use the microwave, the turn table plate was gone, the top of the inside was burned.We also had to have the washing machine serviced . I'm disappointed.

We love the dock and gazebo on the marsh and the proximity to the beach is perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with anything we needed. The only downside was the gas grill was not in service. We used it last year and it was just easier to cook our steaks. But that was not a deal breaker. We will definitely book this home again. It was a perfect home away from home for our family.

This was our second time renting Marsh Oak, We hope to be able to rent the property again. The only drawback is the the queen room has a very unpleasant odor that was also present the first time we stayed. Also he mattress pad (cover) was very worn out and dirty, it needs to be replaced.
