Booking this property was the worst decision which near ruined our trip. Iâve learned to look closer when booking and ask questions. The home is filled with large windows - which would be great but there are NO coverings on the majority of them. The back of the house contains no privacy fence and the wall of windows have no coverings - so you are completely exposed. One of the bedrooms also had no coverings. I spent close to 200 to try to offset the exposure, but it wasnât enough for comfort. There are locks on all doors, but they kept getting jammed and were really tricky to use. The worst part to me was the art. It was horrifying - my 2 yr old literally screamed in terror when entering the laundry room. The image of a distorted figure being seemingly tortured in the hall disturbed all of my kids. The art in the master bath was skeletons, and distorted nudes and sexual parts. Truly disgusting and disturbing. The front lock had only a code and with the nature of the art, my biggest anxiety was not that a stranger would enter but that the owner who knew the code would. The floors were dirty - grout is gone in the cracks which are filled with dirt, food bits, etc. the furniture was dumpy - the couch especially- so gross. Cheap nightstands in the master with no bed lamps. I communicated concerns over exposure to the owner at the start of the trip. She stated she understood why Iâd feel exposed but offered no real helpfulness. Cold and creepy stay.
