Natchitoches is a beautiful town! Especially around the holidays. The Chateau Saint Denis is a lovely old hotel that has been well kept. It has a beautiful courtyard with a view of some of the lovely town buildings. We had to hit the road early the next morning, so we didn’t get to enjoy breakfast, but we enjoyed a restful sleep on a comfy mattress. We were very pleased with our stay.

Lost power, staff did zero to assist older people with luggage down the stairs. My wife his handicap and they offered no assistance. They asked like it was our issue to that power was out. I had to help numerous people with their luggage and assist through the darkness. Will never use Expedia for booking or stay at this hotel.

The receptionist has absolutely no effective communication skills…you could not hear her when she spoke. She did not make me feel welcomed at all when I walked up to the desk to check in. She was not rude at all just not welcoming for my first impression. The hotel itself was absolutely wonderful!!’

Power went out an had no emergency lighting, no plan, there’s no upkeep to this place it was great years ago but is slowly going down hill. The messed up flags in the front are representation of the whole hotel

The evening staff were amazing. It is a beautiful hotel & the room was nice & comfortable. We only had problems with the TV remotes & Mallory worked with me until it was fixed. I didn’t see in the description that there are no microwaves. If we go back, I would pick a courtyard view. The historic view is the back of a building. Buffet breakfast is ok, nothing special. Back parking is iffy at night & ground level entry is not well marked.

Room is nice, but this is the second visit where the actual room door has been propped open upon our arrival, which is a little unnerving. TV remote was missing the back piece to hold the batteries in and there were only 2 towels in the room.
