Great stay at the river cottage

This is the perfect place for us near New Bern, NC. The river view is great, and the sunsets are unbelievable. Nice cottage and a quiet area.

Loved it

This house was absolutely spotless. So cute. Fantastic view. Everything worked. Everything’s labeled. Good stash of towels, cleaning products, etc. Lots of places to sit/hang out, so family members could seek out a quiet place to read or nap if needed. The laundry machines worked well and came in clutch! All the appliances were modern.We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thankfully the bedrooms are on the other side of the house from the next door neighbor who had bunches of people over, loudly talking outside until late at night, 2 nights in a row (that could happen anywhere so we sure don’t hold it against the host!). The only thing we would add would be a kayak or paddle board at the dock so we could experience the riverfront
but we understand that could be a liability issue.One of the bedrooms has a non-usable closet because of a strong mildew smell
the owner/host is clearly aware of it, as there is a large anti-damp packet in the closet. This wasn’t an issue for us because we didn’t bring hanging clothes LOL. If we had, there was ample room in the master walk-in closet for everyone. This is a recently-renovated older home, so it has charm and it has quirks. I also would have liked a “your stay is coming soon; here’s the details” kind of email like I have received from every other VRBO host a few days before the stay. I was a little anxious that we might have been forgotten because I didn’t receive that last contact from the host.

Loved staying in the river. Watching the river flow by was very relaxing. Did travel to the area beaches. Did find a few great restaurants with great food and drinks. Plan on coming back!

The house is very clean and awesome and very well stocked! I loved the large open-floor plan and the two patios (one screened and one open) right on the waterfront! We spent 10 nights there and hated to leave! The owners are awesome and very easy to work with! I'd recommend this cozy cottage to all my friends who are traveling to New Bern! The sunsets and beautiful and the view is absolutely amazing!

Fantastic sunsets

This is a gorgeous river house, with incredible sunsets every night. The house is very clean, beautifully-furnished, and equipped with everything that a traveler might need. You can also be oceanfront at Atlantic Beach in a little over an hour. A perfect getaway!

Great Stay

This was our second stay here and it was every bit as good as the first. Great location right on the water and close to downtown New Bern, clean as a whistle, quiet and well equipped. We'll be back next year!

Beautiful house with spectacular view

House is gorgeous and has a beautiful panoramic view of the river. Very spacious and well stocked with everything you need. Host gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants. If your looking to relax and enjoy your vacation. This is the place for you. Will highly recommend to family and friends and am looking forward to coming back to this charming house.

Peace on the river

You will not find a better or more peaceful place to stay. This waterfront property is beautiful inside and out. Easy access to the highway. We enjoyed quick trips to New Bern for shopping and dining. Looking forward to next year.

We have stayed in New Bern before but wanted a different location besides a hotel. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck then on the evening our wine on the deck watching the river flow by. It was also a good base to go explore neighboring towns and islands. We would love to go back.

Mother daughter weekend

We fell in love with the cozy house!! Perfectly set up as your home away from home!! I’ve stayed at many places and I must say this was about the cleanest home I’ve experienced! The sunsets are amazing. Loved the screened in porch with swing. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking easy. We hope to return again!!

Nice place

It's a nice, quiet, clean house with a lovely night view of New Bern across the Neuses River. Very comfortable. Well appointed, nice large kitchen and master bedroom. Easy communication with the hosts. We enjoyed lounging around while reading, and we also used it as a base to cover coastal Carolina. Had a very nice, relaxing time. Easy communication with the hosts. Would definitely recommend this property.

Co-Workers Get Away

We enjoyed the wonderful view and had a great time fishing - caught two spot and one trout off the dock at the house. It was a super location as the MumFest in New Bern was a beautiful drive across the river. In the four days we were there, we ventured to Shackelford Island for sea shells/horses and even traveled to Aurora and had fun digging up 500 million year old sharks' teeth, shells, and rocks. The home was very well stocked. Nothing lacking. Our only suggestion would be to have a coffee pot that automatically turns off. We certainly would book this home again!!

TOP NOTCH ALL THE WAY

We really enjoyed our stay at this immaculate, comfortable home right on the banks of the Neuse River. We particularly enjoyed the option of a screened-in porch or sitting on the open deck to enjoy the evening breezes. Great proximity to New Bern and not far from Beaufort, Cherry Point MCAS and Morehead City.. Great communication with host...just a great stay.
