It's an old house with small bedrooms but that's to be expected. The bathroom was nice. There could have been more attention given to the wooden surfaces such as the staircase; needed a refinish. The courtyard was covered in leaves that could have been weeks since last swept. The location is very convenient for public transport and food options. The breakfast was underwhelming. Just fruit, cereal, boiled egg, and cold cuts. The only things hot were the coffee and the bread or english muffin you could toast. Nice people. Would stay again if they came down about $25 on the price I paid.

Let’s stay at Fairchild House again

Breakfast exceeded my expectations. Prepared and ready ahead of time. Plenty of space and no rush. Darrel checked us in and thoroughly explained and showed us the area. When free street parking was filled nearby we parked in their lockable solid metal paneled gates to the parking area directly behind their units.

If you’re looking for a bougie place, keep looking. This place is authentic old Nola. Very eclectic, unique and a little spooky. We were quite surprised by the breakfast! Miss Kathy served us homemade cheese and spinach soufflé with sausage. Great conversation as well! We will definitely be making this a regular stay!

Excellent location, especially after receiving all the transportation tips at check in. Darrell was very thorough at check in. Breakfast was not overwhelming with options (understandable considering the number of units involved) but everything served was of very good quality.

It's an old colonial house, well mentained with old fashioned furniture. There is not elevator. If you have heavy luggage, Ask for a room on the first flor

This is my second time staying st the Fairchild house. The place is very cosy, it has a feeling of home. Quiet neighborhood. Daryl who checked us in was very knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was light but sufficient enough to start your day. Grits with shrimp and sausage was amazing. The only caveat is that each room has window A/C unit so if you are a light sleeper it might be an issue otherwise its a great place to stay. We will be back

Run! As far as you can! To the next hotel.

The person (property mgr?), Darryl, who checked me in was very kind and accommodating. And he seem well intentioned. However, my room (upstairs, in the rear) was simply awful. The bear was uncomfortable, the mattress, uneven, and the furnishings, aged and of poor quality. The absolute worst thing was the air conditioner did not work, and the temperature was about 90°. (I actually left the hotel after the first night, though I didn’t check out. I went to stay at a friends in the city. … I was too disappointed and enraged to even file a complaint with the manager. Besides, I knew they would not refund my money if I asked to leave immediately. I’m even certain that the kind gentleman who checked me in knew that I was disappointed, and that the air conditioner would not work. Yeah, he didn’t say anything. I would never stay here again. And, unless you have no other option, I would caution you against staying here either.

I enjoyed this property for its one of kind. It may not be everyone's "cup of tea" but I loved the location and the knowledgeable staff willing to answer any questions that we had. The breakfast room was beautiful and had several option. I would stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Fairchild Inn. Having free parking in the back was a huge perk and the breakfast was amazing. Staff is top tier! After breakfast, they left the breakfast area open that I could get work done and are so personable. The rooms were older but a great place to sleep. The window AC was so cold and kept up really well for the summer weather! Located a block away from the trolley stop, in a relatively quiet neighborhood. I don’t see us ever staying anywhere else in New Orleans.
