This section of DumaineStreet is not one of the more attractive areas of the city.
The street is crowded with parked cars and is in need of repairs. Not much foliage.
Made me a bit apprehensive about what I would find inside.
What a surprise!
Inside, a marvelous use of space to comfortably and creatively cram a fully functioning apartment into one attractive room.
Even the bed in the center of the room adds to rather than detracts from the decor. Beautiful crown molding on a very high ceiling. Original wide plank flooring.
Wonderful, updated and modern bathroom. Great shower.
No window AC units, but was comfortably cool on a very warm afternoon.
The kitchen area is quite complete and is totally functional, but out of necessity, space for food storage is somewhat limited.
But who comes to New Orleans to prepare home cooked meals?
Everything considered, this little unit has all the comforts of home.
Way better than a comparably priced hotel or motel.
Made me wish I had booked more than one overnight.
