New Orleans Coastal Retreat

Located just 20 miles from the heart of the French Quarter on Historic Lake Catherine Island, this coastal retreat has it all. Enjoy the coastal breezes while on the elevated sun deck, screen porch, boat dock or private fishing pier. This Lake Home is well appointed with a completely stocked kitchen (4 different coffee makers!) and high-quality linens. We even provide the following: 6 fishing rods and tackle, crab traps, crab nets, ice chests, boiling equipment, canoe with paddles, 12 ft. johnboat, 2 inflatable/rigid stand-up paddleboards (SUP), and life jackets of all sizes. Bring your boat and dock in the private protected canal or book a charter and they can pick you up on the dock. Fish at night under the dock lights and use the wheeled wagon for hauling in your catch and freezing your filets in our dedicated fish freezer prior to your return. This place has it all! If you miss the magnificent sunrise in front, be sure to catch it set on the west side over Lake Pontchartrain. The perfect retreat for family and friends. Early check-in and/or check-out for a fee available upon request and availability.

Amazing! We are Hooked for Sure! Such a peaceful and rejuvenating stay, exactly what we needed. The Location is perfect, close enough to the city but so awesome enjoying the beauty of Louisiana nature! All the Comforts of Home and Plenty of fun! Excellent vacation spot for the family!

The family loved everything about this place! We will definitely return to stay at this house again! It was very clean, organized & had everything you could possibly need available to use! We Caught many fish & crabs right from the pier & even saw 3 alligators from the pier while night fishing!

Beautiful and fun stay

What an amazing stay! This property was not only beautiful but also fun! There was a lot to do here. We were able to fish off the dock and throw out some crab traps! We will definitely stay here again if visiting New Orleans!

Great stay!

This home was perfect for our new year vacation. It is easy to do all the New Orleans city stuff and then retreat to the peaceful water side home. Owner was very helpful when we had trouble turning on the outdoor lights. He even offered suggestions for places to get dinner. We hope to return when the weather is warmer for fishing and water fun. Thanks!

Wonderful Family Getaway!

Fabulous views, wonderful fishing, easy access to the French Quarter, and a fun, comfy home! This house had it all! We took a quick trip to Rouses Market for locally sourced provisions and then settled in for our week away. Our teenagers took over the bunk room and our "tween" loved the second bedroom. Both bathrooms were fully stocked and much larger than expected. We took the kayaks and the John boat out for fishing and also dropped the crab pots each day. We were able to get bait right up the road at the marina and caught plenty enough for a crab boil. We spent one day exploring the French Quarter and also took a fun boat tour at Cajun Encounters. This house is truly in the middle of it all while still feeling like you are nestled in a quaint little village!

Lakeside escape

I can’t say enough good things about this property or the host! It was our second stay here and even though our trip was cut short by the hurricane it was still an amazing couple of days! The host was absolutely wonderful and stayed in touch about the weather and helped us through the process of having to leave early. We can’t thank him enough!

Good size place with beautiful views over marsh. Not quite as clean as expected with limited toiletries; however, contacted owner and quick responses and good communication. Catching blue crabs off dock was a special treat.

We loved our stay at this amazing house on Lake Catherine. The house is clean, nicely decorated, easy check in, and the kitchen is very stocked, We loved the screened in porch and the private dock (our first time using crab traps). The outside area is peaceful and the view goes on for miles. We made trips into New Orleans and the Slidell area with no issues. Would stay here again.

Wonderful trip.

We caught a lot of crabs but not so much fish. Only one big red fish and a few small croakers and small trout which we threw back in the lake. We saw two alligators also. We will definitely rent again. Thanks for everything.

Great balance to NOLA experience

We loved our stay here! The hosts provided SO much fishing gear, including the boat and crab traps! The house was super cute, well stocked, and clean. Amazing … just the most beautiful view, place and amenities

If I could give more stars I would. We stayed here and the space was beautiful, the views were unbelievable and the extras were the icing on top. The kids loved crabbing off the dock and fishing with the owners local recommended guide. Fishing was the fan favorite of the trip. The adults loved coffee watching the sunrise and wine watching the sunset in the swinging bench on the screened in porch. It was relaxing and amazing and everything we needed. We will definitely come back, even though Louisiana was not the end point on our original trip. We just adored this place.

Peaceful and beautiful

This place is a super neat place. Well kept up and has everything. You could stay here for a week and not have to go anyway else to have fun. They have boats, fishing supplies, games. Beautiful places to sit on deck and porches. Very quite. It's like being in your own home, they have it all, dishes, glasses, pots, pans, towels, bedding, grill. David and Jeff took care of us very well. This place would be perfect for a family with kids. Sleeps 8 with 2 bathrooms 3 bedrooms. It was just me and my husband,but we enjoyed all the room.
