The room was much larger than I would have expected for the price I paid. The bathroom was huge! I loved the provided shampoo, body wash, etc. The mattress was a little on the hard side for me, but that's a matter of preference. I appreciated the water bottles that were provided, and that the clerk at check-in specified that they would not cost extra.

Great location. A little weird billing system that I get billed separately for the 2 nights, 1st being on the day before I checked in. Hallway rug in some areas are torn up. And the bed is extremely soft to the point my back hurts sitting on it. Good hot water supply though. So if u are not someone looking for spacious room and not too fussy with details u shud b ok with it.

Beware—Misleading Photos and Awful Experience at Ameritania • Upon check-in, I was given keys to someone else’s room. I was yelled at by an angry guest for trying to enter. • My actual room was worse: when I lifted the toilet seat, the water was red, muddy, and surrounded by a ring of stains—I literally screamed. • The door barely closed and wouldn’t lock properly, which made me feel completely unsafe. • I called the front desk, but they had no other rooms available. • I had to escalate to Expedia to get my money back after checking out the next morning. • This place is filthy, outdated, and run-down—the room should have been comped for the first night. I’ll be sharing this review everywhere—this hotel is not what it claims to be.

Warning:: Stay Away. One of the worse hotel stays and I almost live in hotels. Here’s my email to their management team: I am writing to express what a terrible experience I and my team had at the hotel Ameritania. We had 5 guest stay and had numerous frustrating issues. I am an avid traveler for both personal and business and this is one of the worst hospitality establishments I’ve ever stayed at. 1. The key cards don’t work. You are already aware of this issue as I brought this up to your staff. 3 times I couldn’t get into my room as well as one of my colleagues. Do you know how frustrating it is not being able to get into your room while you are rushing to a business appt or coming back from a long day? I had to get engineering to come open the door. 2. Poor room hygiene: one college smelled Smoke in his room and asked to be moved. Another college saw red liquid in her toilet and moved hotels the next day. One other colleague had to get engineering to fix the AC, it was broken. Her room opened up into her bed and she had to climb around it to get into the room. 3. Incessant construction next door. It is loud, relentless and nonstop. Why don’t you offer ear plugs or make any note of this. Again, your staff is fully aware. This noise is grating and is akin to Chinese water torture. Starts at 8am. 4. Gym has a strange smell and I had to wait 10 minutes to get out it waiting for an elevator. I almost went through the emergency escape.

The room has an old, classic feel. The air conditioner makes a loud noise while running. Coffee and tea are available in the morning on the first floor. In the afternoon, fruit is also provided. Drinking water is available throughout the day. The location is close to Times Square and other shopping spots—within 800 meters you can find CVS, TJ Maxx, Target, and malls.

Paying all that, parking should be included. A voucher for the garages. I could only park at the meter for 2 hours max and it was 30 dollars for 2 hours. Nothing is cheap except that 1.50 dollar slice of pizza, down the block. With what we pay to stay there as consumers, we should at least have the option to opt in or out, when buying a room to see if we would like a parking voucher.

The hotel is pretty. Rooms were clean but it was so loud that I didn’t sleep at all either night. Sounded like construction ( even at 2 am). Not sure if that is normal or it’s just the proximity to Times Square.

Very nice hotel but key cards had to be replaced several times because they either didn’t work I the elevator or the room door. TV kep dropping picture each time it was turned off/on and had to be reprogrammed to reload the channels. A grab bar in the shower would be very helpful.
