It is dirty!! The floor was dirty and sticky. There is no cleaning service. The front desk will direct you to a closet to grab a mop and detergents so you can clean the room. The room was spacious for NY but it is not worth it. It is a walk up building so there is no elevator.

I absolutely loved this hotel being a single traveler in the city. My room with a private bathroom was clean and suited the size that I needed because I didn’t stay there very long during the day. The bathroom and room was modern and they gave me ample amounts of coffee to be able to brew. To my surprise, there was somebody at the desk most of the time when I left in the morning and when I came back in the evening. They were always kind and courteous! This place made me feel at home in New York and look forward to staying there again for a quick trip. There is a bar below that is a speakeasy with the most delicious drinks. And the restaurant next-door was kind clean and had great food. There was every kind of food around in the area in walking distance for a quick trip on the subway.

The room was great for a person doing business and keeping business hours. Sharing a bathroom was awkward with the other room being up much later though as I could hear every door opening and closing. Dan made some noise too. As soon as I put a pillow over my head, I slept. So maybe bring some earplugs.

This budget friendly hotel is fashioned from an old NY 'walk up' apartment. I found the hotel to be much cleaner and well maintained that I expected for such a great price. The front desk staff (available daytime only) were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The rooms are small, but functional. The location in Chelsea was convenient to Union Square / Metro / Dining / Shopping.
