I don’t normally write reviews, but thought I needed to for this experience. The location of this hotel was amazing. But that’s where it stopped.
We had a room that was smaller than a cruise ship room and a bathroom the size of a cruise ship room.
We were told we’d get housekeeping every other day. On the second day, we collected all our dirty towels to make it efficient for housekeeping to gather them all up to be taken away and traded in for new ones. When we came back after a day of sightseeing, we had a cookie and a note on our unmade bed and a pile of dirty towels still in our bathroom untouched. Clearly someone had BEEN to our room, but had not done anything with it. We were able to call the front desk and eventually get towels, cups, coffee etc restocked, but it was disappointing and not what we expected.
The last thing, and it seems like this is a constant complaint about this hotel, was the elevators. They were inefficient and took forever to come. We were on the 35th floor and one time it took about 20 minutes to get down, the elevator was packed after the first two stops, then the very full elevator stopped at almost every floor from there. It was terrible.
Like I said, the location was amazing, right in the heart of Manhattan, but that was the only good thing about this hotel. This was our first time to New York, so we wanted to be close to everything. Next time we come, we will definitely stay in a different area, but definitely not at this hotel.
