It is a decent hotel, but rather old and showing it's age. The AC does not seem very effective - I set it for 65 but was still quite warm. When I asked to get it cooler, an engineer came in and pointed a laser at the grate on the ceiling that showed it was 70 degrees, although the rest of the room was much warmer than that since it didn't blow much air. He brought in a standing fan, which definitely helped. There is no microwave or fridge. There are also very few outlets. Free bottled water is a nice perk.

The hotel is conveniently located and nearby a few subway stations which makes navigating the city pretty easy. There are also a lot of nice and trendy restaurants at a walking distance. The staff is friendly and accommodating; we've stayed at this hotel several times and they always try to have our room ready way before check in time since our flights tend to land pretty early in the morning. The hotel itself could use a facelift, but for the location, price and convenience, it's a solid choice.

SoHo 54 Rude Denial of 1 hour late Checkout

I have stayed here before I was disappointed in the front desk customer service . I simply asked for a 12pm checkout because I had an important need. I was told NO. This is not acceptable.

Great night's sleep, good location

Really clean, good sized room, city view and very comfortable beds. Free bottled water and coffee/tea. The bar was closed but I didn't intend to use it. A continental breakfast of some sort would have been nice.

The beds were kind of comfortable.. a little springy, but the pillows were soft. The bathroom tub didnt hold water. The drain plug wouldnt stay closed to take a bath and the water pressure was hit & miss.
