We absolutely loved staying at The Gregorian. This is a small hotel that is well-maintained and full of charm. The room was perfect for our short stay and the beds were super comfy. The hotel is centrally located and a good base for exploring New York. We would definitely stay here again.

I’m sad to give this hotel a bad review. I came about a year ago and had a nice stay. They really need to work on their customer service. I arrived from a late trip and waited about 20 minutes ti received my key to have the gentleman tell me they are having technical issues. So every time I had to leave my room, I had to be escorted back in. I went to my hotel and was met with an extremely loud ventilation system that would not let me sleep. When I told the lady over the phone, she laughed at my concerns. Fridge didn’t work. And an overall extremely disappointing stay. Second time there and it will definitely be the last time.

It was freezing outside with snow and sleet everywhere. When we first got in our room it had no heat. We call down stairs and they say their “engineer” was on lunch. This didn’t make much since as it was 4pm, they wouldn’t tell us when he would be back, when the heat would be turned back on and offered no suggestions. The manager was conveniently missing and not answering their phone. After going back and forth for 30 minutes and refusing to stay in this room, the finally gave us a second room directly underneath. Well the room was just as unimpressive as the other, both having stains on the wall and a large stain on both couches. The heat was at least working, well sort of, the windows they have must have been 1 pixel wide as I could feel every gust of wind. After a long evening walking around I went to take a shower and guess what. The water was yellow! This is more then a typical it turned on yellow and became clear, it was alternating between dark and light yellow for 10 minutes before I called it quits. We chose the Gregorian based off of its reviews and location and we were sadly very disappointed. Also get this, They charge a 49.99 amenity charge per night that they try and charge you as you leave! I knew nothing of this charge and they were not upfront with it. After asking if the yellow water and paper thin windows is what they were referring to as amenities they tried to justify it with it’s a very common practice to charge these fees after checkout.
