The hotel was in a great location. The room was very basic but clean and fine. There was a surprise $50/day fee for amenities that I did not use but that was "mandatory". That was very frustrating.

Room was small, open the door boom there’s the bed. No storage space. BUT most hotels in nyc are this way, I’d just never seen one quite this small. Place wasn’t the cleanest but it wasn’t dirty or smelly. Staff was nice. Location was GREAT, easy to get all over from the stations nearby, noise level wasn’t bad and the diner downstairs provides room service which was very convenient.

Location was great. Room had good views. We arrived before check in time, but the room was ready and we were allowed to check in. It was clean and fairly well lit. Had issue with thermostat, but it was fixed quickly. Had issue with shower handle that could not be fixed without turning off water to several rooms. So, it had to be scheduled for after we left. Staff was attentive and friendly.

The New Yorker is a wonderful hotel with friendly and pleasant staff. Located in the heart of one of the most exciting neighborhoods in NYC with abundant dining, entertainment, and transportation options right outside the classic art deco premises. I hope to stay here again soon.
