Poor Experience

WiFi did not work. One of the elevators was not operational during a very busy time. I had to walk up 10 flights of stairs to get to my room. The person who checked me in seemed not to like her job. At least she could have pretended to like her job when dealing with a customer,

I had forgotten my driver's license or left it somewhere else and upon check in, I did not have a card photo ID. The manager said that she could not check me in without a card. I showed her a photo of my passport which was no my phone and she indicated that this was not acceptable since it was not a physical card - even though she or DoubleTree could verify me by my passport number. After searching my luggage for something physical with my picture, I found an old medical card with a photo ID. She accepted this even though saying it was not an official government issued ID? Why would she accept an old unofficial medical card but not a legitimate photo of my official passport. Had I not had this old picture ID, she would not have allowed me to check in. AND I AM AN HONORS MEMBER.

The hotel is very nice and the staff is very nice. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my stay there. Make sure if you prepay for breakfast that they give you your breakfast vouchers to avoid any unwanted charges. Close to Penn station and less than 30 minutes right into the city. You get access to NY without paying NYC prices.
