The room was perfectly clean with a very comfortable bed and the shower had none of the malfunctions often experienced in hotels!! The public rooms were beautifully decorated for Xmas. We enjoyed two breakfasts at the extensive buffet but missed maple syrup for our pancakes! However we were most impressed with the friendliness & helpfulness shown by all the staff & we expressed this on our departure. We will be back!

I have stayed at many icg hotels and the tynemouth castle is up there with the best. However, I was not impressed with the evening food, it lacked flair and seemed to be formulaic. The building and decor were superb.

Really nice simple option for overnight & breakfast for this area. Delightful position makes it really walkable for beautiful Tynemouth & Cullercoats. Excellent staff who are so friendly, helpful & seem to really love their roles there. Would recommend

Cannot understand some previous negative reviews, especially those mentioning the quality of the food. Our room was in very good order, and the staff were all very friendly. Quality of the breakfast was very good. It is also in a very central location, easy walking distance to everything. Would definitely return.

Lovely spacious room, all clean. It was missing a hairdryer as advertised and I had to go down to the bar to ask in my pyjamas with wet hair as no one was answering the phone - not great. Breakfast was nice as always and I ate my evening meal in the bar which was nice but a little bland and expensive. Would still stay again however, it's my go to for my work trips!
