Weâve stayed at many vacation rentals across the U.S. and abroad, and this was our first negative experience. Weâve rented several homes in Corona Del Mar and chose this one only because our usual options werenât available. The location is quiet and walkable, but unfortunately, the home didnât meet expectations. We booked this property because it looked recently updated and included a garageâimportant due to the areaâs twice-weekly street cleaning. Only after contacting the host from the airport did we learn the garage was too small for our car. This should be disclosed in the listing. The home was clean, and the corner lot was quiet, but we had no hot water for five days. Communication with the host was difficult âwe had to stay in and meet the plumber ourselves to resolve the issue. The master sink was clogged for four days. Three bright lights from the adjacent property, also managed by the host, stayed on 24/7, shining into the master bedroom. They were only covered on day nine after repeated requests.Outdoor cushions were dirty, and the umbrella was broken. The compact layout works for two, but bathrooms have almost no counter space. Couch and chair were uncomfortableâwe bought new bed pillows during our stay. No welcome guide or info was provided; we had to message the host for basic questions. We had to contact the host from the airport because we had not received check-in instructions. We hope this helps others make an informed decision.
