Hotel was a disappointment.. service at bar awful, service at front desk slow and just not wait what you expect from such an expensive hotel .. for price not worth it .. charged a cleaning fee for animal who his crazy no hotel did that .. service overall terrible .. many people checking out this lot said same ..

The hotel was within walking distance to Thames Street, which was a perk. The hotel was very clean. Unfortunately, though this stay was disappointing. Especially given the money that was spent for a nights stay. The room was so loud from AC/heating units that you could hear it from down the hall. I thought we stayed in the hotels utility closet. The bar cocktails were a miss and didn’t even finish them. I am not sure I would stay again even if a nights stay was half the price it was.

We stayed at Hotel Viking years ago when we got married and remembered the hotel very differently. The room was clean but cramped. The bathroom was so much worse. My husband is tall, and could barely maneuver around in the bathroom. We opted for breakfast in the restaurant one day, and it took a very long time to be served despite there only being 2 other tables at the time. Someone else must’ve complained because a manager came over. Things moved quicker, but our food was cold and unenjoyable. The place is older and decorated very nicely, but it was not comfortable.

Hotel was sprawling property so it was a long walk (elevators and multiple sets of stairs) to get to our room from front desk. The pool was awesome. The hot tub was small and no bubble/jet action. The staff was lovely and helpful. Location is walkable but it’s a hilly walk. Electric car charges were out of service 👎

I was vetting the hotel for a wedding group- I paid $700 per night - there is no mirror above the vanity/ No waters in the room- I could go on- just not at all worth the money.

Couldn’t see the ocean, hotel on the outside looks beautiful and grand inside is more run down than you would expect a hotel like that to be. The room was ok nothing to write home about. Could use some serious updating, paint etc. kind of expected the gilded age vibe inside and didn’t really get that. Would also like to note there is not much sound deadening between rooms could hear a lot of chatter from hallway and a joining room. Room above is sounded like they had lead shoes on. Overall it was not bad although we did not spend much time in the room. Would we come back? Yes but because it is really convenient to everything down town walking distance. The valets were all super nice. Staff was friendly.

A perfect getaway weekend

The beds in the rooms were more than comfortable better than the standard bedding in chain hotel rooms. Breakfast selections were excellent well prepared and delicious the dining area and the serving staff outstanding

The room was spacious and charming. But the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The toilet and shower were on one side of the hallway, and the sink was on the other side. There was clear water damage on the wall behind the toilet that had been addressed, but was a mess. And the side with the toilet and shower was tiny, you could barely fit to sit on the toilet.
