Nice small hotel in excellent location. Minimal interaction with staff, so nothing to report there.
Could use more places to sit within the gereously-sized room we were in.
This is the second time we have stayed at The Attwater. The service, cleanliness and location are excellent. Some of the carpets in the common areas need replacing. Our bathroom cabinet was pretty dinged up. Everything else was great! I would definitely stay there again
The Attwater was a beautiful hotel, in the heart of Newport, but on a quiet sidestreet that made it easy to relax. The staff was wonderful and very helpful when answering my many questions. I highly recommend it and hope to stay there again in the future!
We booked a two bedroom room so we would be able to sleep.
air conditioning was broken in one room. We didnât even receive a fan until the second night and it was all moldy. We couldnât sleep with open windows because of the noise so we ended up sharing one room. The management could only see fit to refund 10% Even though we could only use one room. Very disappointed. And they wouldnât even communicate with me. Totally ghosted me stay somewhere else.
This hotel is not what we expected. The rooms are TINY so much so that we had no space to even open our suitcases without bumping into the door. The whole room needed a fresh coat of paint and the knob in the shower fell off every time you tried to turn it. Our room was on the ground floor and everyone walking by could see right in unless we kept the curtains shut at all times (which made it very dark). Breakfast was underwhelming. Definitely wouldnât stay again. Especially for the price point.
I will say, however, that it was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
The Attwater is an excellent location. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this boutique hotel.
We had a wonderful stay here. Breakfast was delicious. Assorted pastries, quiche, fruit, overnight oats, coffee. All wonderful.
We stayed in the Beach House on the 2nd floor. It was like a little apartment. Beware though. If you have any issues walking steep stairs you may want to stay on the ground floor. There are no elevators so this was a bit difficult but we were able to manage.
There is no front desk, so you need to check in via text which was fine. They could have been a little more welcoming but friendly enough. I wish they had water out for guests that would be a nice perk. Very nice location as it is in the heart of Newport.
First time staying at The Attwater and it won't be our last! Such a cute boutique hotel tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Newport but conveniently located so it's walkable to downtown!
The manager, Peter, was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious and equipped with everything we needed for our weekend stay. And the included breakfast had amazing homemade offerings. Another bonus of The Attwater was free parking. Highly recommend!
The Atwater was a sweet surprise, tucked away just a few blocks from the water. The room was perfect and the hotel itself was so inviting with all of its little areas to sit and relax. Breakfast was very good and the homemade chocolate cookies in the afternoon hit the spot! I wish we had planned to stay in town longer. We will just have to come back and stay here again!
Overall was a decent stay. Not particularly close to the downtown but we thought in looking at the map it was doing but when we were actually there, walking a mile each way when you are already walking a lot down turn wears on you. The building feels a bit cold, not as homey as a B and B. The a/c unit was a bit noisy at night and would wake us kicking on so we chose to not have it on the second night so would have preferred a quieter air option. The breakfast was not meant to be substantial but was just okay.
Had a great weekend stay at the Attwater. Peter was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The decor was colorful and fun, and the breakfast was great!
