This property is 15/20 minute drive from the main highway and we found it just as described. The property was clean. The host is onsight but you would never know. We enjoyed exclusive privacy in this bird sanctuary/botanical garden. You'll awake to beautiful birdsong and enjoy an outdoor bath among those sounds. Try to spend 1 - 2 days days in seclusion to just enjoy the property because careful thought has gone into guest enjoying a quiet relaxing visit.

Cosy and comfortable

A lovely place to stay for a relaxing weekend - it rained the whole time we were there but that was a great excuse to warm up in front of the fire! Everything was as described and the cottage was well stocked with all the essentials.

Quiet stay

Getting to property was easy and gate intructions were clear. We had a small gog with us.Most of the tracks are doc. No dogs. The bach is nice with the fire but was very cold in the morning. It is appointed well. Could have some dishes to cook in the microwave and or oven , there was only a tray for the oven. There was butter and milk , some bread.Did not use but there, did not use wifi. The beds and towels clean and had some warm sheets on which was nice.Out side has a nice deck and seatting area. Nice in the summer i would imagine.Stayed 1 night, the owner greeted us so was nice to meet. A nice bach feel and would recomend

Lovely surroundings, in a lovely area and super quiet. Just an incredible shame that the outdoor bath was not functioning as that was the main draw card for our stay and would have looked elsewhere if we knew it was not working. As it was listed on the title of the property it was really dissapointing that it didnt work and would unfortunately not stay again because of this. A few other things such as the smoke alarm beeping constantly was a shame also. Unfortunately without the working bath it wasnt worth the price for us.

Ngarawahia blissful stay

Our stay was fantastic. A nice private stay with all amenities for a break away. We bought our bikes to ride the Te Awa bike trail, which was a short drive away from the accomodation.

Switch off and listen to nature

An absolutely tranquil stay. Nothing to do, but relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. The property is immaculate. The outdoor bath is a luxury underneath the stars with hot water on tap. Swinging in the hammocks and looking up into the forest canopy to watch the fantails and tuis was bliss. Lovely host and Lily the dog got on with ours really well. Very friendly. Highly recommend.

Paradise Found

On a whim, we decided to take a night away. Barely 90 mins away from Akl, and less than an hour from the beach at Raglanwe found an absolute gem & nature retreat in beautiful rural Ngaruawahia. Host Gaylene's attention to detail & delightful gardens made it easy to relax straight away. We would highly recommend & hope to return soon.
