My husband and I stayed here for a quick vacation after our wedding and it was the perfect relaxing house for the two of us. It was very quiet and comfortable while still very close to anything we wanted to see/do/eat. We loved our stay!
In a nice area, inside is cute and clean.
Need to update the listing. It is listed as "Two-story charming retreat w/deck, private gas grill, and private washer/dryer" There is NO gas grill.
We enjoyed a nice stay at the property. Clean, great location and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Property is managed through a rental service so asking questions and having access to the owner wasn't the easiest. Overall a great time, would stay again.
We enjoyed our stay. Timely and proactive Communication (vacasa) on our stay, check-in/checkout process were great. House very clean and for us an ideal location. We will book again. Thanks.
The property was comfortable, clean and a convenient place to access hiking and North Conway. We had issues with broken appliances (washing machine and gas fireplace). Vacasa contacted the local property management for us, but they did not respond in any way during our 3 day stay. We also requested an adjustment of our rental costs since we had to go to a local laundromat, but have received no response to that request either.
Perfect drive from our visit to Boston. Cabin is located near many hiking trails, White Mountains, Mt Washington, etc. The cabin was cozy and perfect for just my husband and I. The beds were very comfortable and the bath with walk in shower was great. I didnât give it 5 stars for cleanliness because the entrance and deck needed to be swept and given a cleaning. We enjoyed our stay.
If you plan on asking any questions with the host forget about it. Every other VRBO that we have rented seems to have been super personable and welcoming. However, this location seems to be owned by a larger company that rents the house out there for not getting back to you as quick with questions you may have. our only complaint is the toilet, which seems to be in every other review, so I would think that they should have fix that by now. Also, there is no dishwasher so everything must be hand washed. Not the end of the world, but also an inconvenience when youâre paying money to stay at a place. Location is great.
Pros: We were mostly happy with our cabin. It looked just like the pictures and the location was great. We had an awesome view of Cathedral Ledge from the deck!
Cons: Big one, the only toilet in the cabin was VERY finicky. It fully flushed only about 25% of the time, had to hold the handle down forever...this left us wondering whether it was going to overflow. Being do-it-yourselfers, we understand plumbing. The "plunger" next to the toilet (not a great sign) was useless. I would highly suggest the owner gets that fixed ASAP. Not fun to be stressed out about or having to plunge a toilet on vacation.
The downstairs (bedrooms & bath) were recently renovated and nicely done. The main floor was from another time period, not complaining, the pictures showed that. The bummer was, several old light fixtures flickered and strobed, we turned them off because it was a bit unnerving. Most of the kitchenware was old and tired and the old sofa was pretty uncomfortable.
The entire main floor had a musty smell. Opening the windows and door helped a little.
There was no screen on the 1 door to the deck. If you wanted fresh air, you had to deal with possible bugs coming in. Luckily it was nice out, so we didn't have to use the (one) stand up air conditioner.
We couldn't find the gas fireplace remote. We reached out through the management app...no reply.
Having more than 1 bath towel per person would be a plus.
My boyfriend and I thought the house was perfect. Very clean with everything provided (except food of course) that you would have at your own house. The location was perfect. Close to downtown and the trails were only yards away. Great walking trails out to Echo Lake or a tougher climb to the ledge. We didn't attempt that one. Dianas bath was close by also. We did have an up close and personal meeting with a bear who tried relocating the bear proof trash barrel by the door. Don't know who was more scared us or him. All in all it was an amazing week and I hope we can stay there next year.
In general we enjoyed our stay in the North Conway cottage. The location was amazing and hard to beat. You look right out at Cathedral Ledge and the neighborhood was quiet.
The pictures of the listing are accurate and the seating was adequate. The kitchen was mostly functional. Had some difficulty with the stove the first night not lighting.
There was a portable AC unit upstairs behind the dining table which we were grateful for because it was really hot and humid outside and in the cottage when we arrived.
The bedrooms, which are garden-level, were bright but it did feel a bit damp but thankfully did not smell. They had a tabletop fan in each bedroom but larger fans would be good.
The bathroom has been done in the last few years and is quite nice. We had to keep the exhaust in the bathroom going at all times to aid in drying things out.
Washer and dryer worked well.
The interior of the cottage was clean with a few stray cobwebs.
The windows, screens and exterior are in need of a serious cleaning.
The deck also needs some work with bent over nails that are somehow still sticking up.
I would give it an overall 3.5 stars but canât give halves.
The property was clean, well appointed, and comfortable. We loved the location - so close to Cathedral Ledge that you could hear the climbers calling out to each other. There is a trailhead just steps out the front door.
It was a very cute little cabin, with new and modern bathroom that was a perfect compliment to the vibe without feeling old or outdated. It had everything you needed and was comfortable. The deck has a good little view of the night sky, if you're interested in star-gazing. Clean and proper, it was a pleasant stay.
