This is a beautiful modern place in a very private remote area. So peaceful, we would definitely stay here again. We met the owner , so kind and proud . Lots of interesting indigenous art there too . Little bit of a drive to any of the amenities but that was part of the adventure seeing the little towns .
The Salishan Chief Suite was exactly as advertised and exceeded our expectations in many ways. The space was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight was definitely the breathtaking, unobstructed view of Cowichan Bay. Itâs truly something special to wake up to that scenery each morning and a perfect way to end your day.The suite offered a great balance of privacy and convenience, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful getaway. The only minor drawback was some occasional noise from children in the unit above, which was noticeable at times but didnât significantly detract from our overall experience. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Cowichan Bay area.
We really enjoyed our stay! The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The view and location were excellent, making it easy to enjoy the area. The road up was fine in the summer, though weâd be cautious if visiting in snowy conditions. We accidentally left some wine behind â entirely our oversight â and the host was very understanding about it.Overall, the property was excellent, and we had a lovely time. Weâd happily stay here again and recommend it to others!
Our choice for someplace to stay in Duncan could not have been better. Beautiful view, upscale fittings throughout, effortless check in, bath and kitchen both modern and utilitarian. We ate in for breakfast and dinner as we'd treated ourselves to some of the finer dining spots in Vancouver and Victoria and were ready to relax and enjoy some quiet time on our own. The kitchen was perfect for that. Easy driving to many of the Cowichan Valley Wineries (I recommend Alderlea, Cherry Point, and Averill Creek), and there is a wonderful place for groceries, The Farmers Market, which you will pass on your way to the accommodation. We've already decided to come back next year, and I would not bother looking for any other place to stay.
While remote, adorable! Previous email before arrival could have provided more details since remote. Silly things such as, a hair dryer provided, and a Braun coffee maker, how to turn on the gas fireplace. Bit frustrating. Gping to forward helpful suggestions l
Nice property with great views. The kitchen had all the appliances that a person would need. The space is spacious, calm and quiet.
There was no shampoo or conditioner. So make sure to bring your own. Most places have that, this one does not. No tea and limited amount of coffee. No oils or basic kitchen staples either.
Overall, these were minor inconveniences however should be looked at.
We were a travelling pair. And when you enter into your accommodations and you smile, that puts you off to a really great start to every activity you do, and look forward to "going home".
The views are spectacular. The water fowl, sun rises, and sunsets. Make sure you bring your camera, even though it barely can do it any justice.
The bed is very comfortable.
Of all the accommodations we've had in different places, this one 'hands down', 'takes the cake'
Highly recommend. It is out of the way, but yet close enough to access amenities. (grocery, laundry, restaurants etc)
Small bummer that the television was not working during the visit but otherwise a lovely time! Special thanks to the owners for stopping by to try to help. They were very awesome.
Stay was fine. Location around the bay from the name village and Duncan. Requires travel through sketchy areas and is remote enough you want to get home before dark.
the place is so dirty and disgusting. There are lots of human and animal hair around the place and there is a blood spot on the pillow. this place have clean and safety issues!!!!
This property is tucked away on Cow Bay, and provides an ocean bay setting in a very quiet environment. The only downside was we were not able to bring our border collie with us, as he exceeded the size limit for the house. Hiking is a bit tricky, as you have to either drive to a trailhead, or walk quite a ways down the road. The trail to Genoa Bay is apparently blocked by a homeowner - we did not verify this. But the place is lovely!
We were very comfortable in the Chief suite. It had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable! We also appreciated being able to bring our dog. Thanks for a great stay and all of the advice regarding restaurants in the area.
Absolutely lovely property. Very refreshing to arrive at a rental property and have it actually look identical to the photos. I will definitely be back!
This is a remarkably beautiful place. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The condo was gorgeously appointed with First Nation art and comfortable furniture. Good beds.
Unfortunately it was 35 (95 F), and there was no AC. So that was rough, but probably unusual. If the weather is moderate to cold-itâs the most wonderful vacation home!
The place was awesome, the host communicated on how to enter in the property and everything worked out. When we came in everything was super organized and ready to use. Plenty of amenities and a great view to the water. The Kitchen is full of items and good to go. The host has very attention to details. We loved our stay.
We loved the place, tastefully decorated and complete with kitchen amenities. The bed was unfortunately very uncomfortable. The mattress was extremely hard for us, and being older people it was uncomfortable on our hips, shoulders, etc. We would absolutely go back and rent this home, if, they had a softer bed. Thank you to John and Harold being very friendly and helpful hosts.
