We had a good stay at the Roman Holiday Motel with our children. Everything was very clean and in good condition, some rooms partially upgraded with new spacious kitchenettes, we loved having an actual big fridge traveling with kids. The pool was heated and the Kids’ favorite. Staff was very friendly and helpful, even took time to find us a tool that we unexpectedly needed. A nearby small grocery store with deli was a good option to stock up on snacks as well as great breakfast and dinner sandwiches. Very close to easily accessible beach. Didn’t use it, but tram to major boardwalk was in walking distance.

Exceeded Expectations

It is important to have the proper perspective when staying at a beachfront motel. The location certainly drives the price more than other factors. The Roman Holiday is a motel built in the 1960's. The condition is above average for a motel of this age. Our room was very clean and reasonably appointed. The bed was comfortable, not the best I've slept on to be sure, but very good in relation to other motels I've been in that would be comparable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There is a obvious effort to make sure their customers are happy and that the pool area is safe for kids. This is not a party motel, but one that caters to a family environment. The location is approximately 3 blocks from the end of the boardwalk. This is close enough to walk and catch the tramcar to the piers, but also far enough to not get the boardwalk noise. It is approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the piers on the boardwalk if you don't take the tram. The beach across the street is a nice stretch of beach. If you aren't expecting a brand new motel in perfect condition I think you will be happy with the choice. We were here for the Beach Blast Soccer Tournament and after speaking with people staying at other motel/hotels I think this would certainly be above average compared to most of the others in the area at a similar price-point.

Loved our room- the living space was nice for 6 of us. I would like to try for a 2 bedroom next year (had the 1 bedroom this year). Being ocean front was wonderful. The pool was nice. Easy enough walk to boardwalk.

Book room through Expedia for 5 nights, the hotel called me and said the room was only available for the first 2 night and we would have to move rooms. I feel Expedia should of know that . Inconvient to move my whole family 2 days into our vacation . We should of be accomadated on some way . We had to move ourselves no help from hotel employees .
