Cute cottage

Born and raised on Whidbey so it was wonderful to come back for a visit! It was me and my fiancé and our two dogs. The location was great! Not only the view, but conveniently close to my parents house. Check in was a breeze, as was check out. Bed was comfy. House was clean and well prepared all around. One tiny complaint would be the TV remote was finicky depending on the app used. Other than that, we would definitely choose to stay here again in the future!

Wanted to love the place

This is the first time I have left a bad review. I wanted to love this place, but couldn’t. When I opened the door, I was met with a smell of old musty stank. The floor creaked so loud it could wake the neighbors. There were bugs in the tub, a dead plant in the living room and I found blueberries under the couch. We didn’t have blueberries
Not deal breakers, but for the price you pay for the place, it could be so much better. If you don’t like to sleep or bath, this place may be for you. The beds were so uncomfortable, and the light comes through the blinds. Black out curtains and new mattresses would be great. After my first night, I thought I’ll give it a chance maybe the views are worth it, meh
The water in the home reeks of rotten eggs. You really don’t feel clean when your skin and hair stink worse after a shower. I was told by management this is normal for the island. It’s not. I stayed in another place for a week and the water didn’t smell. My son liked this place. He found out it was a 1940’s navy home they moved there. (he’s in the Navy) that’s why we were there. The Vrbo listing doesn’t tell you that, but the welcome book at the home does. The location was close to the Navy base, beach and close to stores. It was stocked with everything you could need for cooking. Overall the location is good, but I would not stay here again.

Weekend Getaway

Cute little cottage to get away and unplug for the weekend! Super clean and looked just as pictured! Great location to check out activities on the island and the sunset from the property was amazing. The owner was sweet and gave some great recommendations for dinner and coffee which was appreciated!

Lovely setting

We loved the cottage and the nearby lake...very peaceful and quiet yet only minutes to Oak Harbor. Notes to owner to make it absolutely perfect: More detail (besides just code) to check in, as well as how to lock when leaving; add to espresso machine which way to orient the pod; and all of had trouble with that dip into the dining room - both ways! The tape helps but not enough.

Peaceful, beautiful, and restful

I booked this home for a short vacation for my 2 young adult sons and I to gather and make some great memories. It was a beautiful place to stay and make ourselves at home. We loved the peaceful and comfortable atmosphere, the beauty around us, the well stocked kitchen with all the cooking gadgets and cookware we needed, including a wonderful variety of spices, the wonderful grill that we used during our stay, the clean and cozy way the home is kept, and the closeness to many different things to see and do around the area. The home even has a notebook written with alot of helpful information inside about things to see and do, and trails around the area to hike. Communication was great with booking and answering questions after booking, and our hosts were very welcoming and communicated with us during our stay, making sure any questions we had were answered. Check in and out were seamless and easy. I would highly recommend this home as a place to stay and enjoy ! Sincerely, Barbara U.

Amazing Stay

My parents and I went here to visit my son. Beautiful views. I can’t possibly explain the sunset views over the water. It was close to town and very convenient to restaurants and grocery stores. Very comfortable and had a great little kitchen. 5 stars all around

Quaint and Lovely

A friend and I needed a place to get away for a few days and this cute little cottage was perfect. The sunset views over swan lake and west beach were spectacular and we spent quite a bit of time lounging in the Adirondack chairs out back just bird watching and soaking in the views. Kildeer, doves, hawks, herons, and plenty of other birds. The location was awesome - close to amenities yet still felt like the countryside. Tip: if you want to explore the marsh trail down to swan lake, bring water proof shoes. The interior space is so quaint and cozy, yet fresh feeling with a lot of window light. It was a joy to just sit on the comfy couch and drink coffee and talk for hours. There were puzzles and games, interesting books and we loved all the artwork in the space (the Art TV was so cool). The beds were very comfy and everything was clean and fresh. The kitchen was so well-stocked we cooked homemade meals in comfort. If I had to pick one thing to critique, it would be the low water pressure in the shower but that was so minor. We REALLY enjoyed this stay and we hope to be back soon!
