The home was as described, and we enjoyed the stay. Close proximity to the adventure tours that we were doing as well as some good restaurants and shopping within 10 minutes or so. The host was also responsive to anything we needed, which we always appreciate.

Lovely home with lots of space, close to everything

We had a wonderful stay in Highland Manor. We were having a mini family reunion at New River Gorge. My family and my parents stayed here. The house had lots of thoughtful touches like board games, coffee bar and ample supply of towels. The home is beautiful inside and out and very comfortable. We hosted dinner with ny brothers family of 5 joining our group of 7 easily. There is a claw foot tub with hand held shower in the upstairs bathroom which was a challenge to use.

Wonderful hosts!! They have a great attention to detail. You will enjoy the quiet neighborhood and all that Oak Hill and the surrounding area offers. You will definitely want to return .

Thanksgiving Vacation

This beautiful home in Oak Hill was a perfect spot for our family to relax while in town for a family Thanksgiving. It has a well stocked kitchen and I was able to prepare everything I needed for the big day. We loved the game room and the outdoor fire pit! The location is convenient to the National Park and other attractions in the area. The hosts were easy to communicate with and so very helpful. We will definitely be back!

Great location, great property - I will try to stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay at Highland Manor. We were a group of early-40s professionals from the DC area and New River Gorge was our "friends trip" this year. It was awesome! Highland Manor is located very conveniently in Oak Hill, which is surprisingly walkable - we loved how close the grocery store was when we realized we'd forgotten to bring some spices for chili. There's a pleasant rails-to-trails walking/cycling path very nearby which was great to get a little bit of exercise while away from the gym. Rafting on the Gauley or New River, hiking out to Diamond Point, all of that is a very short drive away. Great location. The house itself was perfect for us (we had seven this year), with plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. The table was big enough for all of us to sit around and eat or play board games, the living room was plenty comfortable for watching a movie, and we took advantage of the fire pit on a beautiful October night. Loved it. It is worth noting that, as an older house, sound travels. There is no door on the downstairs suite, accessed via stairs near the kitchen - an early riser making coffee is likely to wake a light sleeper in the downstairs suite. In summary, this place was great and just what we were looking for - I hope it's available next time we visit the New River Gorge area.

Family Getaway...Bridge Walk or Bust!!!

The property was perfect for our family group of 5! We loved the character and cleanliness of this home. It was spacious and so organized. The location was in a nice, quiet neighborhood and perfect for our visits to New River Gorge National Park (Bridge Walk, Hiking) and restaurants (Secret Sandwich Society was so good!) and breweries in the Fayetteville area. There was plenty of room for our group to relax in the living room and play cards and other games in the dining room every night! We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this property!!

Home Away from Home

Weekend Getaway

A beautiful, clean, spacious home on a quiet street in the heart of Oak Ridge. The home is an easy 10 minute drive to New River Gorge National Park, white water rafting, and downtown Fayetteville. The host was great at communicating from pre-arrival through our departure.

Beautiful Home

This is a beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. The home is spacious and outfitted to ensure an enjoyable stay. Our family appreciated the coffee bar and ping pong table in the game room. The location is good for exploring different areas of NRG.

The perfect family home!

The house and host were great! We are a family of six and our family plugged right into this beautiful historic home. The house was extremely clean and tidy, everyone found their space and settled right in. The location was so convenient! We booked several adventure with “Ace Adventures” and the house was only a few minutes from the resort. It was also close to the free way giving easy access to all that the new river gorge has to offer! There were a few local coffee shops within walking distance Pistos was our favorite. Our family made good use of the Spacious back patio and fire pit. The host was awesome, very well organized and supportive, I would highly recommend this home when you visit the new river gorge!

Lovely Place

We came to Oak Hill to do some family genealogy research. I wanted to visit some cemeteries and other places my ancestors lived etc. What a wonderful place to stay while we visited! It was just as described. There was plenty of space for a larger family! We did not cook here, but they had everything that you could need! It was clean and spacious. The boys loved the ping-pong table. We enjoyed the backyard and the huge lightening bugs! We did not use the fire pit, but it was available. We felt safe in the neighborhood. Our stay was short, only a few days. But we tried to do as much as we could in the short time. We ended up visiting a lot of historical sites in the area, which was really cool! We highly recommend that you get out and see what's our there! It's close to Fayetteville so you can venture there as well! Oak Hill doesn't have too much going on in the town, but it's quaint. I would definitely stay here again if we decided to come back. This part of West Virginia is beautiful!! Would highly recommend. Just wish we had more time to spend here!!

This was a great house for our family of five. It really had more room than we even needed. It was close to the rail to trail walking path and also close to get on the highway to access the national park visitor centers that we wanted to see. Ace adventures was also quite close and if you’re in the area, I highly recommend spending a day there! We had plenty of room to spread out and the kitchen was well equipped for us to be able to cook. We loved the tea room and all spent lots of time out there having our breakfast and reading at the end of the day. The hosts were great and communication was on point.

This home was in perfect distance to all activities in the national Park area! Right in the middle of restaurants and a grocery store. The house was fantastic with all amenities. Owners were friendly and communication was great. If you are checking our West Virginia New River gorge area this is a place to stay!

Outstanding experience

They thought of everything. Clean, well equipped. We loved the ping pong table. Board games, plenty of towels. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone. Very close (maybe 15 minutes) to all the New River Gorge activities. We went hiking, rafting, rock climbing, fishing and zip lining. Grocery stores nearby for eating in as well as lots of restaurants. Loved the grill and fire pit as well. Great place for us to gather with our adult children for a wonderful Long weekend. Thank you to our hosts. You knocked it out of the park.
