We had a great time staying at this property! Itâs full of character, has tons of space, and kept everyone entertained! No one was ever bored. The beds were so comfy! The location is great too, just 7â10 minutes from Bass Lake. A few friendly FYIs for future guests:There are quite a few steps throughout the house, and we had a couple of slips and near falls, so be cautious, especially with little ones or older guests. This was something we were aware of when booking and was not a deal breaker for us. I only wanted to note it so others are aware in case of accessibility concerns. The upstairs layout includes a room you walk through to get to the bunk room. Itâs something to keep in mind if you're trying to manage quiet times for napping kids. Some bathrooms are shared between two rooms and have double entry doors, so be sure to lock both sides for privacy.Cell service is very limited. Verizon and Xfinity had one bar in a few spots. T-Mobile and AT&T had no service at all. Wi-Fi worked best in the dining and theater areas and was weaker elsewhere in the house. My only suggestion... it would be helpful if the refrigerators were turned on a bit earlier before guest arrival, they took several hours to fully cool down and ready for use so there is no food spoilage or loss. Despite these little quirks, we really enjoyed ourselves and would absolutely love the chance to stay again!
five bedroom, not six, broken AC, no cell service, internet down
The listing specified 6 bedroom. There are 5. We paid several hundred dollars per night more that their usual listing because of the 4th of July holiday They count a fold out couch as a bedroom. The bedroom with one queen bed does not exist.
We arrived during heat wave. The AC for downstairs was broken for first 3 nights of our stay. Older couples were in downstairs bedrooms with 90+ degree temps inside. The only help were fans that pushed the warm air around. We rented the house to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Some had to leave after two days. By the 4th and 5th days we had AC, but would not have if we had not pressed the issue with the host.
The internet went down every afternoon and there is no cell service so communication from the house can be a problem. Also the ROCU tv requires internet. As did the "smart" washer and dryer. Once you download an app and get the washer so it has an internet connection then you can unlock the washer. Good luck.
The host did her best to rationalize everything and to point out there are lots of fun things to do in the area, and therefore should not care about these trivial issues.
We did enjoy the area and the lake, but it sure would have been nice if everything worked when we got back to the house.
I feel like we paid too much to stay at this property. But given an honest description I still would have considered it. At least it now has a good working AC that I think our rental fee more that paid for.
When we walked it we could tell lots of thought went into this fun place. We loved the huge kitchen and the theater area was amazing for movies. The kids loved the arcade area and the play rooms. Beds were comfortable and rooms decorated with the rustic look I love. We went out in the evening to the fire pit and enjoyed our hot chocolate and told stories. I would definitely come back it was a great place for a large families đ
Booked this for a large family trip and it was overall a comfortable stayâ the children especially enjoyed it. We had difficulty with the Roku and the host wasnât responsive in resolving it or other questions. A house manual wasnât provided and I found that there could have been more detailed instructions to feel more oriented in the home. Lastly, while the photos of the house are very accurate, they donât quite capture the layout of the house which is pleasant but quirky. One detail to note is that there are lots of steps and stairs, which would have been helpful to know for accessibility sake. The rooms with the bunks are upstairs which require climbing two flight of stairs that are relatively steep for small childrenâwould still stay again, but think these are helpful details for other families when considering their rental.
The property was nice and spacious. The little kids loved the games and toys all around the house. Accommodations were perfect.
Down sides included a malfunctioning keypad at the door. It took 30 minutes to get into the property and given the phone reception issues it took even longer to get a hold of someone to help us out. WiFi was also spotty. Otherwise, the property itself was great.
We had a group of 20 people ranging in ages from 1 to 40 and everyone loved and enjoyed the property. It was very quiet and enjoyable both during the day and evening. We hope to stay here again in the future.
We enjoyed the place. We wished we could of tayed longer unfortunately it was to short for us. The place is secluded but close to town at the same place. The only issue we had was that we clould get a hold of anybody for the first 4 hours due to wi-fi issues. The information that was in my print out did not match what was given to me after I got a hold of someone. Other then that it was very enjoyable.
Stayed here 2 nights and we enjoyed every minute. The kids LOVED this place. So many cool surprises and nooks for them. The place was super clean and well stocked with extra bedding and lots of extra towels. The kitchen had everything you could need and the host was super accommodating. This place made our family reunion a big hit and we're so glad we found it. THANK YOU!
