Check out is 11am - if you have time it would be very much appreciated if you let me know when you are on your way out/have left, so I may begin cleaning.
If you want to stay later ask, I'll try
The place is neat, homey, private, secure and very comfortable. The host is very gracious and considerate and that gives the rental an air of familiarity that can never be found in a hotel.
Cute place for two ! Nice patio, and awesome location in the hills . I would highly recommend this cute apartment and will stay again on my next visit to the area .
Alix has a beautiful home on a quiet , dead end street. Very comfortable for one or two people. Has a lovely deck overlooking private back yard. Hope to return there again. Highly recommended!!
Quiet, clean, decorated tastefully in fun colors. We enjoyed our short stay at Alix's place, and will look forward to going back in the future.
Her friendly communication made us feel welcome and free to ask her about anything we needed.
Everything was clean as a whistle, and we appreciated the quiet neighborhood vibes which included an occasional chicken cackle, as well as a distance train whistle. Very nice for a first visit to the Berkeley area.
This is a lovely lower level apartment situated above Kensington Circus. The host is very helpful and responsive. The layout provides plenty of privacy and is ideal for an extended stay, including working remotely. I loved the patio and beautiful light in the space! The apartment has a very functional and well-equipped kitchen, nice full bath, and comfortable bed, too.
This property had a nice secluded entrance at the back of the property down the stairs and behind a gate. The back yard was beautiful, and the apartment got plenty of natural light in the morning.
Alix was an excellent hostess. Beautiful garden, ideal for meals outside. Cozy and comfortable. Beautiful area. We stayed for 17 days and really enjoyed it!
I stayed with 3 of my nieces (7,12 and 13) for 2 nights while we visited Point Reyes during the day. It was the perfect place to crash after I wore them out daily at the beach.
Staying at this home in Kensington is great if you need to be in the East Bay and you have a car to get around. Parking and driving to the home tucked in the hills was easy once you arrive and directions were clear to follow. You will need to walk up and down a driveway with a pitch, but we had no issues coming and going. Even though you are in a basement unit it is a separate living space. In fact, we did not see the owner nor noticed any noise in the 8 days my son and I stayed there. Windows and the temperate weather in the East bay make for pleasant stay. Fans and space heaters are available if needed. Good stocked kitchen allows for meal prep so you donât have to eat out all the time. The couch folds out for another bed- my 10 yr old son slept there fine. Recommended.
My kids and I had a lovely 2 day stay at Alix's Kensington home. It was clean, bright, lovely, and quiet. I took the beautiful bedroom and my kids slept on the pullout sofa. I loved the color scheme and the beautiful tiles. The deck is sweet as well and we planned to eat every meal out there but the bay area was very chilly when we were there but it would the perfect place to eat. Thanks Alix!
Kensington is a great base for both (remote) work and access to Bay Area attractions. The unit is compact and nicely done. In the living/dining area, the high ceiling, many windows, and direct access to a big sunny deck make the space feel much larger than it is. The deck is particularly pleasant, surrounded by trees and a half-wild garden. The birds and the sunset over Golden Gate, viewed from the street above, will give you a show every day!
This property is light and comfortable and well laid-out. A full kitchen, a deep soaking tub/jacuzzi with a strong shower, a comfortable double bed, and an open living area with sliding doors out onto a private deck. This is a great place to stay.
Only positive comments on this lovely, well provisioned apartment. The private deck is sunny, the apartment is airy and the kitchen is easy to cook in. I spent two weeks here and loved the neighborhood with two local small grocers, a delicious pizza restaurant, bakery and a very short ride, or lovely walk, to a main drag with everything you would want. I hope to be back!
This was the 2nd time my son stayed here.
I live locally but would consider using this quiet, peaceful, very attractive space for a retreat for myself!
My son enjoyed a restful stay over Thanksgiving. Heâs from LA and was so happy to relax in this special spot.
The host is excellent and very friendly. Checked in periodically to see about any needs.
This is a real gem!!
