Excellent stay in a very welcoming atmosphere, journey to this hotel is stunning, accommodation is clean and modern with excellent shower, the view from our room was amazing to say the least, we walked to the local social club at the ferry terminal which was the hub of the community and had a great time with the staff and patrons welcome refreshing.
The Lochaline Hotel is located in the tiny village of Lochaline, which is reached by a rather long drive on a single-track road. Although remote, the hotel rewards a stay with its peacefulness. It is located right on the sound. The ferry runs frequently to Mull and no reservation is needed. Our hosts were warmly welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and had a wonderful view of the sound. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order.
Lovely little hotel with special views and so peaceful. The hosts are so accommodating and do everything to make your stay comfortable. Would certainly visit again if I was in the area.
We were greeted warmly by our host. The property has an amazing view of the harbour. Our room was modern, clean and well- equipped. We chose to have the homemade pizza for dinner and it was delicious. Breakfast was cooked to order and ready when we asked it to be. A lovely place to stay
Wonderful location and had a fantastic stay. Enjoyed many fresh meals, welcoming hosts and the bed in my room was especially comfy! Will definitely be coming again.
Wonderful hosts, very accommodating. Lovely spot with a view of the Isle of Mull across the bay. Had one of the best pasta meals in my life. Well worth the drive.
If you imagine a cozy inn by the sea in Scotland, this is it: beautiful coastline, comfortable room, and a friendly innkeeper. We stayed in five different places on this trip, all pretty good, and Lochaline Hotel was our favorite, by far.
Fantastic views from the front of the hotel. If you can get a room looking down the sound of Mull towards Oban there can't be many better views in all of Scotland. The owners are lovely and very attentive to everything. Nice homemade pizza at night in the dining room and the breakfast is very good. The rooms and bathrooms are very modern, warm and and comfortable with all the usual mod cons. The Vertuo Nespresso machine in the rooms was an amazing touch - but I wish I'd asked for more milk as the (UHT) milk sachets spoiled my coffee a bit, but that's really the only fault I could find. My only regret was not bringing my dog as there was a Cockapoo that a guest brought but I didn't establish if the hotel was dug friendly. Overall a very nice hotel and the perfect stop off point if you're waiting to go to Mull.
We were here in bad weather so didnât get to take advantage of the beautiful setting as much as we would have liked to. Shaley and Peter were wonderful hosts! Very welcoming and full of info about the area and wildlife. Dinner and breakfast were both made to order and lovely. So glad we were able to stay with them!
