What a gem of a house! The view from the house was a delight and inside had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen had all the pots, pans, utensils, etc for us to make meals like it was our own home. 3 adults and 2 dogs had the best extra long weekend trip.Sherri was incredibly responsive to our questions before, during and after our stay. We are trying to schedule a time to return to this amazing home!
My wife and I wanted to grab a couple of days of R&R away from the heat. This place was perfect! Exactly as advertised and everything in great condition. Highly recommend.
Wonderful secluded house nestled in amazing flora and fauna, this was the respite from the Arizona heat we were looking for. When not hiking or exploring the island, we loved sitting on the expansive deck trying to spot all the different birds we were hearing, while keeping an eye out for ocean critters. Didnât see any orcas but we did hear one on our first morning there. We did see plenty of bald eagles and deer! The house was well supplied for all, including toys and crib for a three year old. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure in the showers. Kitchen was well appointed, although as another reviewer pointed out, the pans need an upgrade. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of extra blankets. A bit of a drive from town and shopping but well worth it. Make sure to buy some farm fresh eggs from the nearby stand!
Overall a fantastic property with views even better than the listing. The house is plenty spacious with great character (fun designs in kids room and big open living room). We enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, electronic keyboard and fireplace and spent a lot of time on the expansive deck. Loved our stay!
The "Spotted Deer Hideaway" is indeed hidden away, situated at the end of an obscure gravel road and perched on a hillside overlooking the Salish Sea (Puget Sound). If you're looking for peaceful seclusion and natural beauty, you've come to the right place. However, be aware that this seclusion comes at the cost of convenience: the nearest legitimate grocery store, and most restaurants, are a half hour's drive away.
There were a few maintenance issues we encountered upon arrival, but these were swiftly handled by Sherri the property manager, who was friendly and responsive.
The lack of proximity to restaurants makes the kitchen all the more important, which made the the lack of high quality kitchenware (e.g., cheap pots and pans) a bit more frustrating than it might otherwise have been. On the other hand, the kitchen is spacious, clean, and has a nice layout.
Overall, some little imperfections, but a great place.
We stayed here for a quiet week with our adult children and it was everything we hoped for and more. The three bedrooms served us well, as did each bedroom having access to its own bathroom. The living room and dining room view is stunning and we each took time every day to take it in. The kitchen is well-equipped, so we fixed most of our meals ourselves. We also enjoyed playing some of the games and putting together jigsaw puzzles and had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. We are seriously considering coming again next year.
This house was all it was advertised and more. The views were incredible and we actually spotted an Orca Whale and the Eagles were there everyday. The supplies at the house were awesome and I cooked a wonderful Christmas dinner. We could not have had more fun. Thank you for sharing your home with us. I recommend this house for everyone.
Our family stayed for 3 nights and the house was just as listed and reviewed. Tucked away in a very quiet area with terrific views of the Sound and a nice telescope to check out boats and wildlife. Lots of room, good heating, and the beds were very comfortable. Sherri was fast in response communication if we had a question. We liked coming in the winter season as walks were quiet & foggy, with break through sun, which made for great, uncrowded walks at Moran State Park but I would definitely stay at this comfortable rental any season!
This place is truly an amazing getaway. It was just the two of us celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary, so it was much more house than we needed, but it was so quiet, and peaceful. The view is indescribable, and there is a close walk down to a small community beach (we saw a whale!). The house was very clean and stocked with just about anything you could need. The linens and towels are top quality and everything is very comfortable. We hope to stay again if we get the opportunity.
We so enjoyed our time away on Orcas Island. The view was amazing and the neighborhood precious! Sherri was great and quick in answering any questions I had. Highly recommending booking this home!
This was a beautiful place for our family to get away from the city and to explore Orcas Island. The kids room is magical (murals, toys) and comfortable. We had 4 adults and 2 kids under 4 and it was a great place to watch the eagles, whales, and seals. The place really has everything that we needed--views, quiet, trees, playground, well appointed kitchen, laundry, so much space to enjoy the views both inside and out. Plus, Sherri is a great host who communicated often and clearly. Overall, one of our best vacations.
Our group of 6 had a lovely stay and plenty of space to spread out and relax. The assortment of games and kids toys was fantastic and kept my girls well entertained when we werenât out exploring the island.
If youâre looking for a beautiful view outside of the hustle of Eastsound with all the amenities. This is the place for you.
If you donât like eagles, sea lions, seals, humming birds, and a orca being offthe porch, this is not the place for you. It was as if staged. And you must like solitude and not mind a half hour drive to the market. I will definitely try to go again
