This is a very nice traditional Japanese hotel. You must take off your shoes and put them in lockers before you head over to your room. You can take them up to your room but just not wearing them. Our experience with the staff was very warm and welcoming. There is a dinning area on the first floor and when we arrived they were serving free bowls of ramen to the guests. It hit the spot for our first night! I expected the rooms to be small but honestly our room felt quite spacious. Maybe because we had two beds. They also provided comfortable pijamas. Overall the hotel had a calm and relaxing environment so it is a perfect place to come rest up. Very pleased with our stay and highly recommend.

We stayed 13 nighs in April of 2025 with these problems listed below: 1. We requested not to have room cleaning but the room cleaner opened our door. 2. We requested to have the bed with a big dip in the mattress replaced, they finally replaced it after Expedia contacted the management. 3. A guest tried to open our room door – he had a hotel voucher with our room number written on it. 4. I was ignored when I tried to borrow an umbrella from the front desk.

It’s my first time staying at a ryokan and I was very impressed. The staff are very polite, even though I struggle with understanding Japanese they have been very patient with me. The ryokans were amazing, the place is clean and well-maintained. They have a lot of free food and I definitely enjoyed that. Overall, I had a pleasant experience.

I loved the fact you had to take off your shoes. It gives you a real feel for the culture, BUT it was a false safety net because I THOUGHT it’d be a really clean hotel, but it’s misleading and leaves a false impression to “wipe” your wheels to your luggage down and take off your shoes when the floors are dirty, sheets are dirty, and old brushes are found in your room. I didn’t feel clean at all here, and the rooms are TINY. I had new white socks on and they were black after half a day. But the location is GREAT.
