It was not bad, there was construction in the parking lot so I’m unable too give a review without parking being a factor, then the bathroom although nice and clean was moderately bigger then a coffin, staff were nice and polite, the continental breakfast was where this establishment shone, it was phenomenal!

We had stayed here twice before, over ten years ago. We loved the grounds with the view of the Rideau River and the service that was provided at the check in desk as well as at the breakfast was great. However, the buildings are quite run down and we found the rooms to be quite dirty especially the floors. They may have been vacuumed but not mopped regularly and we could see the dirt in the corners as well as on the tiles in the bathrooms. Our feet and socks became quite dirty. We stayed on the ground floor and noticed how noisy it was from the people walking around on the second floor. The floor was creaky and we could hear thumping in the middle of the night. Aside from these, our stay was pretty good. Not sure if we’d stay again.

The landscaping was beautiful, and all of the employees were lovely. I had made a special request that extra towels be in the room, which I had to ask for. The hot tub was out of service and the outdoor pools were only open till 8pm. I had higher expectations for the hotel.

After driving for 9 hours getting there only to find the hot tub out of order. Spent the day in downtown Ottawa in plus 30 degree weather & have dinner with friends from the area, get back to the hotel hoping to cool off in the pool but they Locked the gate at 8pm. The breakfast was cold for the entire three days we were there. It was mentioned to the staff on the first day but nothing appeared to be done to rectify the problem.

We had a great time during our stay! The staff were so friendly and helpful! Our cats were able to stay with us during the heatwave which was really nice. Also, we had a beautiful canoe ride on the Jock River. Thank you!

Overall nice stay, but one main issue that was not well responded to by the desk clerk. We booked this specific hotel because it claimed to have a hot tub. We really wanted one on our short trip. Others from our search had hot tubs, but we chose this hotel because of the room with a balcony on the Rideau. A nice twist. Expedia website said it had a hot tub. After check-in, we went to explore the grounds and locate the tub. When we found it, there was a sign on the door saying it was closed for renovations. I must mention that as I was searching on Expedia for a place to stay, some choices of alternate hotels had hot tubs but were identified as currently not in operation. This hotel did not have such a note in the description. We went to mention this at the front desk and were met with nothing but excuses. They claimed that it was identified on their own website that it was closed. We told them (and showed them) that Expedia had not such mention. They said they can’t control what Expedia publishes. Over and over I gave the staff an opportunity to make a real apology, but it never came. That’s all it would have taken. Instead all I got was excuses and lack of appreciation of how it frustrated us. Staff at breakfast the next morning was great and very friendly. Unfortunate blemish on what could have been a memorable stay.
