The hotel is the level of a run-down Best western, if you know what I mean. Restaurant is pretty good. Bar is o.k too, but not too friendly bartender. Rooms can be cleaner, but overall reasonable. Bed-mattresses are probably very old, as you fell like sleeping in an hammock, maybe because of years of very obese people staying in them. Restaurant menu is ridicules, with some of the same items appearing twice, with different price… You order something from the menu that is priced at $4 and later they bring you the bill and you are being charged for $5 They show you the same item for $5 in another line in the menu, and even you show then you order the $4 item, they refuse to back off. Not so nice… Stayed also at the Moana O Sina resort. Much better choice!!!

This could be a great hotel but has poor management. The front desk staff were all unhelpful, did not speak English well, denied I had a reservation with Expedia , have no authority and the manager is seldom on site. The bathroom needed an overall deep clean, the laundry line didn’t work and the toilet was challenging to flush. There is a $5 charge for poor internet that did not work outside the building at bar seating or at the pool. The continental breakfast is minimal and unhealthy. The bed however was extremely comfortable, pool refreshing, massage excellent, shuttle worked well, store was good and the restaurant food was acceptable, if overcooked.

A Lovely Stay

Parking was convenient and check-in/out was quick and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable with a well functioning AC. While the bed was comfortable to sleep on, sitting on the edge, it was easy to tell that these mattresses were near the end of their life. Very much appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. The included continental breakfast had limited options but quality food; I was disappointed that the suafa’i wasn’t available every day because it was so delicious when it was available. There was no hair dryer in the room already but one was readily supplied upon request. The water was hot and the pressure was decent. While showing some signs of wear, this was still a very pleasant trip and I highly recommend staying at Tradewinds when visiting American Samoa!

The hotel is beautiful and exceeded my expectations. It has a welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the lobby is stunning. The food is excellent as well. The hotel offers a great workout area, a nail salon, and massage services, complemented by a small boutique featuring local items that represent the island's culture. The swimming pool is nice and warm, and I appreciate that the hotel is conveniently close to the airport. Their car rental service is a fantastic travel option, and the airport service helps with check-ins and check-outs, making everything very convenient. If you have any questions or concerns during your stay, don’t hesitate to ask the front desk or the bellboys in the lobby; they are excellent sources of information. Just a heads up: the hotel does not have an ATM, so please plan accordingly. However, there are ATMs and banks nearby as you explore the islands. I highly recommend checking out Tradewinds.
