I really like the charm of the old hotel but it needs some serious updating I understand the theme and the allure but definitely more comfortable beds. Maybe a TV in each room. A shower that works would be great. And perhaps put the king size bed at the under end of the room so that our heads aren't sleeping by the toilet all night. Front desk was very charming. The walls were paper thin and we were in a room right next to the laundry room I don't know what sort of hotel does laundry at 10:00 p.m. but it was going on.
There was no breakfast due to renovations. There was also a lack of amenities and limited parking. Not quite what I was expecting, but, we did have a very nice stay.
Les points faibles : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
No one there to check us in. Door was locked. 2 hours later someone had to come in on day off for us to finally get checked in, WiFi did not work, hot water not working and heat ran regardless of thermostat setting. Overall would never stay here again. Morgan, who finally came in on her day off was wonderful, but that was the only thing good about this stay.
Checked out a day early than we booked. Accommodations were not as expected. Room had to be heated with portable heater that took several hours before room was comfortable. Heater quit during the night and had to be moved to a different outlet to get it to work. Obvious power issue with previous outlet. Shower stall was unsafe for my handicapped wife. No bars in the stall made it dangerous for her to balance. Staff already had moved us to lower floor when we arrived so no other option was assumed available. Staff was not available upon departure for discussion so dropped key in designated box as instructed by sign on the counter. Drove on to next town for better accomodations.
Wonderful hotel, friendly & helpful staff. Beautiful room. Breakfast was a bit overstated; just bread that could be toasted and fruit. Weâve stayed here twice and would stay here again.
Cool 19th century hotel, right in the middle of town. Walk everywhere. The only complaint I had was the beds. They sag in the middle, which isn't a problem if you're alone. They should probably be platform beds. The hotel was retrofitted with en suite bathrooms, obviously. But everything works! Parking on the street right out front was no problem. Very secure and really pretty.
Everyone at the hotel was helpful and pleasant. The front desk manager, Morgan, was friendly and provided lots of information on restaurants and shopping in the area.
Small room with no amenities. Rooms were freezing. And the staff was not their until the morning to address issues. Other guests were loud and disrespectful.
Charming old building with great decor - yes, it will get better under new management and breakfast could get better with eggs and oats etc. But overall we had a good time.
