Overall, this was a nice location with lots of included amenities. It was 10 minutes from town and the space was well maintained. There were a few minor items but nothing significant. Proximity to the river was nice. Beds were comfortable. We would stay here again.
The cabin had everything we needed! Large bowls for pasta salad, a sheet pan for baking cookies, frying pans for breakfast and all the grill utensils. Plenty of towels which is always so nice and wonderful markers for rock painting we decided we needed to pick up some of our own!
This cabin was beautiful! We had a wonderful time. The only issue I found was the disges were questionable. It almost seemed like maybe a guest prior had accidentally put away their dirty dishes.. No matter I just made sure to hand wash anything we planned to use before and after. Each meal. The rooms were amazing, we werent expecting neighbors so close but our group had a great time, played foosball and watched movies spent a bit of time enjoying and relaxing in the hot tub. I would recommend 8/10. If it wasnt for the lack of confidence in the dishes I would have rated higher.. However I spent a good portion of my stay washing dishes wishing i would have broughten disposable.. lol
Quaint cottage on river close to Mt Rainier National Park. 6 adults stayed and it was perfect for our needs. Even better if you have kids! Every amenity was thought of! Owners gracious and genuine.
Me, my wife, and 3 friends stayed in this cabin for 4 nights during a ski trip to White Pass. The area is beautiful and the cabin backs onto the Cowlitz River (1-2 minute walk with fence/gate) so you can see and hear the river from the back yard. We spent a lot of time hot tubbing during the trip which was exactly what we were looking for in the winter. The house itself was in good shape, exactly as described and outfitted with all the usual kitchen stuff youâd need to cook (you probably would want to cook given limited food options in Packwood). Overall we had a great time and wouldnât hesitate to return.
Pros:
- lovely welcome snack tray
- lots of kids toys and board games
- kitchen was well stocked with good pans/dishes/essential cooking items
- king bed is glorious and so comfortable
- bath towels were great
- perfect location for accessing Mt Rainier
- easy access to the river
- friendly neighbors
- plenty of space for our party of 6
- lots of classic VHS and DVDs to choose from
Cons:
- hot tub was not available for use until 12+ hours after arrival
- delayed coordinating access to the country club pool
- faucet in first floor bathroom rotates, but is functional
- bigger coffee pot would be helpful
- second bedroom bed was very uncomfortable and sloped in the middle
- main light in the sitting area was not plugged in and no access to an outlet
- zip line could use some oiling
This was a perfect place for our family to celebrate Christmas together. The space was large enough to support our big group and there were lots of games and room for the kids to play. We would love to come back!
We loved the location. The house is older and could use an update. we had to wash alot of the dishes when we arrived and some dishes were in the dishwasher still. Just seemed pricey with all the extra fees and still having to clean upon our arrival. Overall we had alot of fun and the river was right in front of us so it was beautiful. Probably won't stay again just because of the fees.
We had a wonderful time at this A frame house. The best part of the property is its location on the Cowlitz River. The sounds of the rushing river and mountains right there were breathtaking. The house was also well stocked with pantry items, dishes, and random items we needed. Plenty of toys and books for the kids too! The bathrooms were beautiful and the hot water always lasted even after 8 people showering. We also loved how the cabinets were labeled so you can find things- the little things matter! Thank you for a great place for our family from across the country to come to the mountains for a week of fun :)
