We stayed at the AZZ Valencia Congress Hotel & Spa while visiting for the Hyrox event, and sadly our experience was very disappointing. There was no tea or coffee station in the room, meaning we had to go all the way down to the lobby just to buy drinks. They weren’t complimentary either — £2.50 for a tiny paper cup of coffee to then carry back to the room. The air conditioning didn’t work properly, and the room never felt cool or comfortable. The bathroom toiletries (hand wash, shower gel, conditioner) were almost empty when we arrived and were never replenished during our stay.
After the event, we came back hoping to have a celebratory drink, but were left waiting at the bar for about 10 minutes with no service. The reception staff saw us but didn’t offer any help, and when we asked, we were told the bar doesn’t open until 7 PM. Throughout our stay, the reception team weren’t particularly friendly, which made the experience even less enjoyable.
On Saturday night, there was a birthday party with a DJ outside, and the music was so loud it echoed through the building, making it impossible to relax or even hear the TV. Then early Monday morning, we were woken up by cleaners slamming doors, dragging furniture, and talking loudly in the corridor.
Overall, poor service, lack of comfort, and no attention to detail. Definitely not what you’d expect from a four-star hotel. Would not stay again or recommend.
