Fantastic location for everything in Penneshaw. The Ironstone walk, the penguin centre, budget rent a car and the Fat Beagle. Well worth booking the cabin and enjoying this great space.
Over about a week we stayed in a luxury tent and an ocean front villa.
Both were clean and well equipped. Wifi wasnât the best.
The luxury tent had a very small kitchenette and of course didnât have great insulation so when the sun came out the walls got warm. When it was windy the tent flapped around a bit.
The villa was excellent. Spacious with everything you need and parking right by the door. Thereâs a private balcony but it had a privacy wall blocking any view while seated.
Location is a few steps from the ferry terminal, IGA supermarket, pub and more.
Recommended for a quiet place to stay.
Great experience staying in the luxury tent. Bed was very comfortable. The shower was amazing and it did feel like luxury having it in the tent/room. Stayed in tent 2 that had an amazing view of the ocean. Caught the sunrise which we could see while staying in bed. Has all the amenities and was a relaxing and wonderful stay. Highly recommend.
There was so much good about this place - the tent was comfortable and well appointed and the location was absolutely beautiful. However, there were two main drawbacks. One is that the wifi worked less than half the time, and when it did work it was very weak. It may have been better to not have the wifi at all, and wifi is very important on the island because there is very limited cell service. The other is noise. The tent doesnât provide much noise privacy. In some ways thatâs wonderful - it was great to wake up to the sound of the birds and fall asleep to the sound of rain. However, the tents also had TVs, and because the tents are close together with little foliage to block noise between them. This meant that a lot of what we heard was not birds and rain but other peopleâs TVs. This really detracted from the experience unfortunately.
