I was excited about this property given the high rating, location, and fair price. However, upon arrival at 6:00, I noticed a single small roach near the trashcan. I dismissed it as a one-off and cleaned it up. After returning from dinner around 7:00, I turned on the lights and saw 10–15 roaches on the floor near the trashcan, even though no food trash had been placed there. Most were small, with a couple medium-sized. When I checked under the sink, I found a large bottle of roach spray, suggesting this wasn’t a new issue. After spraying, I noticed several more on the counter, appearing to come from the outlet where my AirPods were charging. I sprayed again, but was left with dead insects and no way to disinfect the area. I contacted the property manager, who assured me the unit had just been cleaned, the property is treated quarterly, and that they have never received complaints before. While I believe that may be true given the strong overall ratings, my experience was different, and I shared photos with the manager for reference. His reply, “I can’t really tell what those are.” I tried to diffuse the situation and tell him that I do believe that this is an excellent property, but unfortunately, this particular stay is not excellent. He gets unprofessional and that’s when I stop. I believe once they resolve the issue. It will be a wonderful day once again. I was just not comfortable with staying and preparing food and that situation.
