Was perfect fit for our week-long visit. Excellent location and very well appointed. Hosts were friendly and attentive. The only real downside is that the front bedroom got a little loud due to street traffic both friday and saturday nights so might recommend packing earplugs.Would not hesitate to stay here again. Recommended!
We spend a couple of days at this location and it had everything we needed. The location is pretty central and had many restaurants walking distance. Like they had in the description, parking is challenging, but not impossible .
This is a lovely house thatâs very comfortable and was decorated by people who know about art and decoration. Itâs a bit out of the way, but it feels like a retreat inside.
The house had everything we needed and a very well appointed kitchen. The beds were super comfortable.Easy waking distance to restaurants and bars. The outside area was great. We were able to find parking daily on Pennsylvania.
My co-workers and I stayed over the weekend to plan our next year of work and the space was perfect for us. We had plenty of space to work at the long table, cook in the kitchen, and chill in the living room. Parking was available on the street and the home is in walking distance to lots of food.
Warm, welcoming and relaxing home near lively Brewerytown. The first floor has a very comfortable sitting area and fully equipped kitchen. Three bedrooms upstairs: the beds are super comfortable. They provided everything we needed for our stay in Philadelphia. Given the city location, parking wasn't too bad - we generally found a spot within a couple of blocks. Great location for walks in Fairmount park.
Lots of space for my family (3 teens and my partner). We were very comfortable and felt safe in this neighborhood. Parking is a pain (street parking and generally a block or two away) but not the end of the world and we were prepared for it. The house had everything we needed, we enjoyed cooking there one night and bringing food back with us a different night. We walked down to the river and thoroughly enjoyed the park. The Zoo is very close by! Perfect for a family! Thank you for letting us use your house while we explored Philly!
... but this is more the southern part of the Brewerytown neighborhood than the actual Fairmount neighborhood.
That said, it is a spacious, well-kept property with everything we could want. Communications were excellent, house rules easy to abide, and access by car to the rest of Philly was easy-peasy. We had no trouble finding on-street parking within a one block radius.
First and second floors were clean but basement (extra game room and washer and dryer were not). Carpet and floor had not been vacuumed (I exercised down there so I could tell plus when we vacuumed it half the canister got filled!). Laundry room was also pretty dirty. Otherwise, house was clean. They did have tiny black ants in kitchen but it wasn't a problem. Walkable to many places of interest. It is street parking but we found spots on 29th street and Pennsylvania without a problem.
Lovely retreat in Fairmount/Brewerytown We were instantly pleased with this home when we walked in. Very welcoming. The decor, furniture, art, and assorted mismatched dinnerware seemed effortless, but of course, this was done with great care. Well done! The beds were super comfortable and the bedrooms had great options for storing clothes. The ceiling fans were nice to help cool the rooms.Location? Loved it! Very close to the Fairmount Park and Art Museum ("Rocky Steps" to our boys.) My wife ran each day and found great routes along the river including the fantastic Schuylkill Boardwalk. We walked to a bagel store around the block as well as a great brewery, Human Robot Girard. It was a short 15 minute walk along park-like Pennsylvania Avenue to restaurants by Eastern State Penitentiary. We planned to bike as the park was nearby but we spent so much time zipping around to all the great things Philly has to offer. We will be back in Philadelphia often and will certainly be staying here again.
We enjoyed the property and found it clean and well appointed. I would warn seniors of a couple of items though. The exterior stairs to the front porch are narrow and steep. The same applies to interior stairs. There is no bathroom on the main floor so youâll need to navigate these stairs to either the upper floor or basement bathrooms. The other consideration is parking. We were there 3 days and never found parking closer than 1/2 mile away. We were able to pull up on the sidewalk to load/unload luggage but then began an extensive search for anywhere to park our car. On the upside, digital communication with the host was very good and timely.
