This hotel is under construction in a very big way. I would probably not invite guest at this time to stay there because it feels very dirty and dusty and not ready for bookings. They say they send an email in advance to let you know, but I did not receive an email because I booked through hotels.com.

I have stayed there several times through the years, but they decided to start doing remodel on the hotel and still try to have people stay at the same time so when we checked in got into the room on a Saturday, it was unbelievable. My wife comes to Phoenix for medical care and they are literally were jackhammering on the floor below us and above us unbelievable. It’s hard to believe that the high Regency would allow something like that.

Renovation in progress

If we knew the renovation was going on, we would have chose another hotel. We had Lots of work arounds. The water was shut off for a period of time on Sunday & lots of air in lines when it was turned back on.

Frustrated

Unbeknownst to me, the entire hotel was being remodeled. Alarms literally going off, construction doorway zippers. Elevators wrapped in paper/plywood. No lobby, etc. The staff were accommodating and said I could cancel with no issue but that’s easier said than done with a third party “hotels.com” and you are traveling with your own schedule/obligations. Very frustrating and disappointing that I’m now one of those complainers. Fwiw, I suppose I’m at least letting someone know. Will it matter? Probably not.

This hotel is being renovated. The lobby doors not exist, they checked me in through the back door. Then you have to walk through the construction.

Staff was fine. However, unbeknownst to us the hotel is under renovations. Both mornings I was awakened by drilling above me at 8am and another morning was awakened at 4am by trucks beeping while backing and driving around the parking lot. Additionally, at one point during the day I went to use the bathroom and shower and the water was turned off.

This is a great place to stay with an awesome location, but I did not know that they were renovating the property when I reserved the room. The only reason I lowered my rating was because I was not happy that this information wasn't disclosed upon booking the room. The first couple of floors were torn up and only one elevator was used for guests. There was a lot of noise and construction crews all over the place.

They were in the middle of remodeling with no warming before booking. No lobby, loud and water was shut off from 11:00 am to 3 pm very unpleasant experience

The check in was smooth and fast, amenities were as described. The room and the great stay experience was just what we needed. Although some renovations and construction was going on, they were kind enough to make up for it by complimentary snacks and drinks. A small clogged up sink was taken care of by their plumber. We’re definitely considering returning on our next trip to Scottsdale. Can’t wait to see the post renovation site!
