Excellent location and stay

We had a great time at this location and enjoyed hanging around the swimming pools, hot tubs, playing tennis and hiking. Poolside service at the main pools was good (churros were the best).

Great place for Family Vacation

The suite was perfect for a family. Bedroom and living room area allowed for plenty of space. The pool facilities are great! Definitely felt like we were on vacation!

Great vacation

Great experience from check in to check out. My wife enjoyed her massage and I enjoyed the access to golfing and hiking . The staff was very accommodating and the rooms were very well maintained.

I stayed with my family of 5 for only one night and it had anything we wanted. Clean room with enough space. Easy parking, great pool and close proximity to amenities. I would stay again

Fun Place

Fun property, great room. Loved that the bedroom was separate. Pools were awesome! It is great that there were adult-only areas. Only drawback is the parking. There is no parking close to our room and it was quite a hike to bring our gear in the heat. Otherwise, good experience.

Family friendly but outdated

Pros: the pools are fun for the kids, the staff is easy to communicate with and responsive, the property has a lot of amenities. Beds were comfortable. Cons: the property is outdated, and the room was very dirty, carpet filthy, walls and couches had stains, and the bathroom door wouldn’t close.

Not a Queen bed - beautiful resort

The resort is beautiful. It was great that there were so many pool and restaurant options. My only complaints were the beds were listed as Queen beds; they were definitely not queens (probably a Full). Also, we chose a Deluxe room to have a balcony. The rail was tall and the chairs were short. So unless you stood the whole time you were not given a balcony view. I would stay here again - I would probably need a bigger room though (due to the bed sizes) and ask for a differently balcony.

Spring Break

Beautiful property! The room was perfect! Things to know
it is very hilly when walking anywhere. They do offer shuttles though which were great! The main pool gets very busy so get there early to get a chair! Takes a while to get food at the main pool when busy. Probably due to the time of year. We were surprised that the front desk and pool staff weren’t very friendly. They seemed bothered everywhere we went. Not welcoming or happy to help. We did have a very pleasant pool waiter the last day we were there and a couple of great shuttle and golf cart employees. Thanks so much!

Pros: easy check-in process, friendly staff, text messaging communications, clean pool grounds, ability to request a microwave, gift shop was nice. Areas of improvement: bed sheets had stains and were tinted dark in worn areas, stain on carpet, carpet felt dirty, stain on couch, musty towel and bathroom smell, door handles felt sticky, shower head didn’t work well as it still wanted to run tub water, had to message staff everyday for towels in the later afternoon/pm and took at time hours for them to be dropped off, poor internet service, rooms could overall be updated as there was stains on the walls, chipping of baseboard pants, tiling grout failing. Pool chairs are old, tables at the pools vs just beach chairs would be nice for those who physically can’t sit in a beach chair. Overall: Price of room was expensive for the quality. I’ve stayed at nicer hotels (even during covid) for 1/3 the price.

Check in wasn’t available til after 7:30pm

Got to the hotel to check in at 4. With two kids in tow, after traveling all day. Rooms were not ready, no big deal. We waited, we waited and we waited. I checked in multiple times with the hotel and the owner of the property. Finally after 7pm I had to go get another hotel, (double the cost because it was last minute) my kids were cranky and we were all exhausted. At 7:36 pm we got a text that our room was ready. I reached out to the company for a full refund and their response was that they would give me the resort fees back. I think this is entirely unfair and I will never be using this company again. They were very insensitive to the situation and how it affected us. Mind you we only had the room booked for one night.

Canceled reservation by company without our knowledge

I booked with Vrbo at the Hilton Pointe Tapiato from February 9-16 for a suite with 2 beds. My brother Dan called and notified you and the Hotel on February 10th that although we thought we had a booked flight to arrive on the 9th it was delayed until the 11th. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 8pm to find that you had canceled our reservation to the 12th. The only room available for the stay was a king suite although very nice it was not the reservation of 2 queen beds that I booked. Unfortunately my brother and I had to keep switching to the pull out couch and to say the least was uncomfortable. I had paid for this reservation in full prior to arrival and notified you of the delay. I didn't expect my reservation to be canceled till the 12th. I expected my room to be available regardless of check in time as we had notified all appropriate channels and paid for 7 nights not 5. We are extremely disappointed with our sleeping arrangements which made for uncomfortable sleeping. I'm asking for a refund for the 2 nights you canceled without our knowledge. Just like booking through the hotel, but BETTER

This stay was AMAZING!! We got all the works of staying at the hotel, but paid VRBO pricing!! The room was large, clean, and had all the amenities. The pool was such a fun atmosphere. The host was great at responding, in a timely manner! I highly recommend them!

Disappointed

Upon arrival we were concerned about the surrounding areas. The place in itself seems safe, but anywhere around there is very sketchy. You have to travel decently far to get to stores/restaurants to feel like you are in a safe place. The room at a quick glance looks clean but the doors were disguising, haven’t been cleaned in a long time, along with deep cleaning. The bedding was not comfortable, very stiff an crunchy. The biggest thing I would say is that the place is big. you really have no idea what room you are staying in until arrival and that is a big deal as you don’t know where you are in relation to pools, lobby, restaurants
 etc. And they say you can call for a golf cart ride, however you can’t if your room phone doesn’t work. The TV’s are old an you wont get Netflix, Hulu etc. The Wi-Fi is spotty, but that seems to be about everywhere around mountains so not their fault. Overall, I would suggest spending a little more for a better resort. If you are wanting to experience downtown Phoenix or Scottsdale, be prepared for a 20/25 min drive or Uber and to go through some sketchy areas.
