Had a wonderful stay at a wonderful pub. Location is perfect and character of the pub is amazing. Lovely locally brewed beer and great food. Bad timing on our part that the brewery was closed so couldn't do the tour but gives u great excuse to go back.
Lovely old pub with log burner in bar, friendly staff and locals, made very welcome. Stayed three nights in the four poster room, situated outside of main building but ideal for our two small dogs. Home cooked meals, very good and generous, good range of ales, most from adjoining brewery.
Located in the countryside, highly recommended.
We had a room above the bar, bed comfortable but the bathroom let the property down. It was old, and thatâs ok but it needed a really good clean.
We ate in the bar and the food was ok, as was breakfast.itâs a nice traditional pub with rooms, not sure if we would return to stay the night.
Tired and much in need of cleaning and decoration, dark and dingy. Poor lighting in room using out-dated low-energy fluorescent bulbs. Ceiling light in en-suite not working on arrival - reported next morning - but still not repaired by departure. (FOUR NIGHT STAY!) Mugs in room not cleaned/replaced every day. Shower gel not replenished every day. Carpet not vacuumed at all during stay. However; slightly dog-friendly, which was our main reason for booking. Good beers. Food generally very good but one night of appalling chips which were, to be fair, replaced promptly; but at ÂŁ90.00 per night plus cost of dinner you would not expect to have to complain about food offering; let alone anything else. Would I stay again?...only if nothing else was available nearby. Would I recommend?...doubtful.
