The reception at check in was most friendly and sincerely warm that I've ever encountered. I forgot to take her name but Holiday Inn Express is lucky to have her.
An OK place but, for what is on offer, it costs more than is reasonable. I believe that, on my last stay in London UK reputed to be a hyper-expensive city the cost per day wasn't much worse than this place and from that hotel one could get anywhere with a 5-minute walk and a ride on the underground. This place has two elevators - one broken for my whole stay. Ice machine too. Noisy equipment of some sort in the hall provided an unwelcome background. Impossible to walk anywhere unless one is feeling suicidal. Monroeville traffic has been notorious for a long time and gets worse every time I visit. The breakfast wasn't bad as motel/hotel fare goes
Clean room; however, I did not get the room that I requestedâI requested a King room, but I got two queens. Therefore, there was not a lot of room in which to move around. Also, the tub-shower was a bit slippery especially for a senior.
We were given a room that smelled like rotten eggs. We compained and were told that the hotel is full. We came down and refused to take no for an answer, we were alloted a new room. We met the cleaners and thet confirmed that there was egg on the carpet and they had tried to clean it earlier and were planning on cleaning it again. The new room we entered with the key and it was an already occupied room and we apologized humbly and went back to reception. We were given a third room (third time lucky) and we insisted that the front office take us to the room and check the same before we stepped in. I am not sure if I would stay in this property and in my mind this is not safe place for woman who travel alone. We double locked the door and placed a chair and suitcase against it when we slept
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction regarding a maintenance issue I experienced during my stay at your hotel.
On 9/13/2025 , I encountered a problem with the sink in the bathroom of my room. I promptly reported it to the front desk, but I was informed that the maintenance staff had left for the day at 7:00 PM and would not be available until the following morning.
This is extremely inconvenient, especially considering that basic plumbing issues directly affect comfort and hygiene. More concerning is the lack of any alternative offeredâno effort was made to either resolve the issue promptly or provide me with a different room. We fixed the issue by ourselves
I would like to remind you that as a paying guest, I expect the room and its amenities to be in working order. If an issue cannot be fixed right away, a room change should be arranged immediately. What if the issue had been with the air conditioning or something more critical?
Hotels of your standard should have either 24-hour maintenance coverage or a clear protocol for addressing issues outside regular hoursâparticularly when it impacts a guestâs comfort.
I kindly request that you look into this matter seriously and consider compensating for the inconvenience caused. More importantly, I urge you to review your current policy so future guests do not face similar issues.
The staff was very nice. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast had a variety to choose from and wad good. We will definitely stay here when In the area.
