The staff were so nice, the room was great, and the facilities were nice! The kelp on the beach was a bummer but other than that the beach was beautiful and perfect. We were bummed that there was no windsurfing as advertised and that there was basically no snorkeling (we could use the snorkels but were told there was nothing to see because there were no good snorkeling areas nearby).

It was our second time staying at this particular Iberostar resort. We came back after 10 years to celebrate our 7 year anniversary and were amazed at how wonderful it all had progressed along with phenomenal entertainment! Thank you Iberostar!

This was my first stay at Iberostar Paraiso Waves Del Mar. Would not recommend. My second trip to Riviera Maya. We first stayed at El Dorado Royale. We had a great time there, besides the beach, concrete breakers in water, we wanted to try a new resort. I’m not sure about the other Iberostar properties at Paraiso beach, however, I want to give a shout out to Alexis from Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach. He was by far and away the friendliest, most helpful and altogether pleasant person we met on our trip. During our stay, we learned that the employees from the other resorts, other than Waves Del Mar, all had the same thing to same about most of the staff at Del Mar. Rude. Not polite. That other people staying there have thought the same. Manager that was at check-in was very rude. Told me that I only booked for one guest when it was me and my wife staying in room. Why would I book a room for one person? Then when my room was ready, they told me it was 2 single bed room, when I purchased an ocean front/view room with king bed. Front desk staff told me it was based on “availability”. Expected my wife and I to celebrate our romantic anniversary trip in 2 single bed room. They switched me to a ground level room, which I didn’t want. I specifically paid for and asked for a second floor room for the ocean view. My view ended up being looking at the landscaping and hedges that were in front of the room instead of the water. More to say but not enough characters

Check in was relatively easy, staff was friendly, but that was the end of their friendliness. Room was so-so, seemed old. Air Conditioning never seemed to cool the room and the ceiling fan was a slow pace with no way to change it. Humidity was an issue but expected. Staff did not let you know that restaurants were closed and the app and map that were provided did not represent anything correctly. If I were to go back I would choose a different resort that is on the same property.

The resort is very pretty and has lots of animals roaming around and tons of greenery beautifully arranged. The service could have been a bit better from the front desk at Del Mar. Often times staff was not able to communicate well in English and service team at the buffet was not attentive especially towards younger children.

We came here with our 2 year old twins and they absolutely loved it! The hotel feels like a wildlife retreat. There are wild peacocks, pigs, coatis, and other animals. Our kids loved it! The staff was friendly, especially Ramiro at the front desk, Jessica at the concierge desk and Octavio, one of the head chefs. There were a few negative: the property is very widespread and it takes forever to walk from your room, to the restaurants, pool, and beach; they also don’t have any elevators, which was a huge inconvenience because we had a stroller with us; the beach is not nice. It’s very small with very few chairs and is covered in seaweed. If you’re looking for the beautiful turquoise water, this isn’t it. The only nice part of the beach was the star prestige area, which of course your had to pay extra for. Overall though, I highly recommend this place for people with kids.

We absolutely loved the immersive natural setting of this property, complete with a huge swimming pool and a lovely sandy beach. The walking paths felt like enchanting journeys through a lush "jungle," teeming with beautiful wildlife. The staff were exceptional – consistently friendly, attentive, and dedicated to maintaining the grounds and providing excellent service. We also had a blast parasailing and took a memorable snorkeling trip to Cozumel. With a variety of delicious restaurants and a particularly impressive buffet, dining options were a definite highlight.
