Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house and location are exactly as the description and pictures show. You have a view out every window and door. Plenty of great space. There is a path right across the street that leads to the beach. The community pool and a paved path to the beach is easily walkable from the house but you can also drive and park to it. Great space for large groups. As with most rentals in the area if you want the views, there are lots of aware for low mobility or small children.....Would absolutely rent here again. Management was also very helpful.

The house was just what we needed for a ladies weekend retreat. We had plenty of space and plenty of bathrooms which is very important with so many ladies. The views were breathtaking, every window and balcony view refreshed all of our souls. Will defiantly stay here again.

The house is super close to a boat launch and has easy access to a community pool and the beach. Views from each side were amazing. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cape San Blas!

Relaxing and fun family vacation

Our family had a wonderful time staying at the Firefly beach house. The location was ideal! We loved walking to the beach everyday, having easy access to the dock to take out our kayaks and go fishing, and having beautiful views of the ocean and bay in both directions. The upstairs living area was spacious and there was plenty of seating for our family when we had meals. The property was clean and we appreciated having the 4 bathrooms, as well as the additional half bathroom on the lowest level. The outdoor shower made coming back from the beach an easy process with our young children. We’d love to come back next year!

A great week with family. The house was great, clean, and the rental company was very responsive. Five stars! We love the big deck, the view of the water, watching sunsets from the house, and access to the pool down the street. Beach is literally across the street which is so convenient. A couple things to know - the house has a ton of beach toys and chairs already there. We brought our own and rented a few which was overkill. The toy room has boogie boards, a beach tent, and lots of shovels and snorkels. Wish we’d known up front but enjoyed them anyways. The grill is rusted out and while it will cook burgers, the insides are gone so grease drips to the ground which is a fire hazard. Things rust out quick at the beach so this just needs to be replaced and everything is good.The top floor bedroom, with the barn doors, does not have a bathroom inside it. This wasn’t clear when we looked at pictures. You have to use the bathroom near the stairs.TV and Roku - the TV’s work great but it was hard to figure out the Roku on our rainy day inside. They have a Roku remote but it doesn’t control anything. I would recommend the rental company give instructions (and batteries for the remotes) or just tell renters to bring their own.Overall we would go back again. Love Cape San Blas!

Firefly Beach House

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Firefly. The location on the island was great. The walk to the beach was more difficult than expected, but we got our exercise! Would be difficult for those with mobility issues, or very small children with lots of gear. The only negative was that the house was not very clean and some items needed repair. Most of the bathrooms were very dirty, the dishes and silverware were dirty (both wet and had food stuck on them), and the dishwasher could not be used. The inside was covered with black mold. Also, the microwave seemed to have a short. It made a very loud pop when turned on. We did make at least 2 or 3 calls to the rental company regarding these issues, but our messages were not returned and when we did speak with someone, the issues were never taken care of. If these had all been fixed, our stay would have been perfect.We really enjoyed both the front and the back porches to watch the sunrise and sunset. We rode bikes, and enjoyed donuts, ice cream, and some good meals. Overall, this is a great house in a good location.

Nice House but Repairs and Cleaning Needed

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It’s a nice home. Seems freshly painted and generally in good repair. That said, it was very dirty when we arrived. The kitchen table had food and crumbs stuck to it (elbow grease needed to remove it). The kitchen counters had not been wiped down, the floors were filthy, the roll away bed sheets were full of sand. Coastal Joe was very responsive and offered to clean again but that was not convenient and should have been done before. The internet was out the entire trip. Our stay was over Thanksgiving so I get timing is bad but this should have been identified before we arrived. The kitchen sink garbage disposal/sink backed up and wouldn’t drain. Coastal Joe should inspect the properties closer before guests arrive. Also, the pest control folks came during our stay and were fast and friendly but they sprayed insecticide all down the hallway. Our child’s stuffed toy got wet with chemicals. This house did not have people in before or after our trip so perhaps the pest control can be scheduled when the house is vacant.

We filled the house up as my children are all grown so there ended up being 9 of us but Firefly had a great setup and everyone was comfortable and there were enough full baths. I read some other reviews of it being dirty but we thought it was cleaned well and the location is great. Definitely a bit of a walk to the beach if you are carrying a load but it’s definitely walkable and worked out fine. We would rent it again for sure.

The girls at Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals made the rental process easy as pie! Very attentive to our needs. They communicated very well and were a joy to work with. The accommodations were perfect. Everything you could possibly need was there. Very clean as well. Thanks to the Owners/Hosts for sharing their beautiful home with us. We will be back!
