Nice place with everything provided. I didn't even have to go buy anything that wasn't provided which I've never NOT had to do. Cute house, private, quiet area except for some barking dogs occasionally from nearby... overall, a very satisfying experience and I would recommend it to friends. Only 1 suggestion is for a small TV in the bedroom....

This was a great little spot. There's probably nothing you could want to eat or drink that wasn't about a 7 minute walk away. From donuts, to tacos, to sandwiches, to ribs, beer, wine, liquor... it was all in walking distance.. We had a good time for our weekend get away. Parking at the cottage was a bit tricky but it was a wonderful overall experience.

Perfect, historic, little house

We enjoyed our stay at Gypsy Cottage. It was in the perfect location, about two to three blocks to “downtown” and another block to the water. A paved walking & biking path is nearby which we enjoyed, daily. The property owner very thoughtfully curated the house and amenities. So many fine details considered for travelers from a dog basket with blankets, bones, extra leash, etc. the kitchen and bath had everything we needed. We ate in most of our meals and the kitchen was perfect for us. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and some cute shops. You won’t be disappointed.

Home Away From Home

Our annual scalloping vacation led us from our tiny townhouse in downtown Ft. Walton Beach to the delightful Gypsy Cottage in the heart of Port St. Joe, and it was our best experience yet. Unlike other rentals we've tried in Cape San Blas and PSJ, this charming tiny house truly felt like a home away from home. The location was perfect—close enough to bike to the local Piggly Wiggly and coffee shop, yet nestled in a peaceful neighborhood that offered a serene escape. The owners' attention to detail made this rental stand out. The provided toiletries, plush towels, and comfy bed & pillows ensured a cozy stay. The well-equipped kitchen, complete with spices, oil & cookware, allowed us to enjoy home-cooked meals, which we savored while relaxing on the outdoor swing and chairs. Another standout was the responsiveness of the property owners when we accidentally got locked out, despite the warning not to lock the doorknob from the inside. This was a refreshing contrast to a previous experience with a property management company where our request to change a reservation was met with unyielding inflexibility, despite notifying them within 30 min. of the mistake. The owners also reached out with information about local events, adding a personal touch, unlike one who ignored our requests for local info. The care and attention to detail made this rental exceptionally welcoming and convenient. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a cozy and well-situated retreat in Port St. Joe!

We came to bring our pups to the beach again! We usually are farther south in December and it’s not too hot. This was hotter that we expected but we made it through. Nice quite and clean town and cottage!

4 day getaway

Spent 4 nights in the Gypsy Cottage and was pleased. It’s a “tiny house” so of course it was small but plenty of room for just me! 2-3 people could stay there, but it would be a little tight. Very clean, convenient location, and has several nice little extras (bottled water and a nice selection of snacks was there when I checked in. The only complaint I have is the stairs are a little narrow and steep, but overall very nice. Would stay again!!

Absolutely amazing!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Gypsy Cottage! The house was so cute and homey. We had enough room for our little family of three. Each evening before bed, we would snuggle out son on the couch and watch Disney plus that we connected our account to on the smart tv. We would wake each morning and enjoy the comfortable seating outside and get ready for our day. When I accidentally locked the main door, I was able to text for guidance and get help right away! I hope that we can stay at this cottage again!! I highly recommend the gypsy cottage for anyone wanting to visit Port St. Joe and enjoy the simple things of life during their stay!!

Charming House!!

We really enjoyed our trip to Port St. Joe and the Gypsy Cottage. Communication with the property manager was seamless. We were welcomed on our first day with a basket of snacks, waters, coffee, etc. They even left us Red, White and Blue beach towels for us to use for our 4th of July weekend beach days. They also left pet items and a jar of dog treats. Our pets felt very welcomed too. The house was charming and we loved that the old character was left in the house even though it has been updated. The old sink in the kitchen is a gem and we loved the feel that it gave. The tv was Roku and we liked being able to watch our YouTube channels. There was a keurig coffee make but we had brought our Chemex and made our coffee that way. Everything was clean and had an updated feel. The colors were calm and relaxing. Lots of greens and blues on the inside. The house is close to downtown Port St Joe and it was nice to be able to get out and walk our dogs. We had our pictures made on Sunday evening on the beach near Cape San Blas with Stephen Teekell. We highly recommend him and his wife. They were wonderful to work with. Again, we really enjoyed our trip and we ate at several nice restaurants as well as cooked yummy meals at the house. Great getaway for sure!!

Lil Yellow hideaway

We loved our stay at the Gypsy Cottage. It was nice and quiet not too much going on in neighborhood but close enough to get downtown and go shopping, get something to eat or hop on 98 or 30A to explore all the other beach towns. The swing outside was great to hang out on and watch the stars at night or just relax at the end of a busy day. We hope to come back soon.

Location!

The Gypsy Cottage was a terrific location just a few blocks from Reid Avenue and a few blocks from there to the lighthouse. We usually walked to dinner and shopping but rode our bicycles around town also. We enjoyed day trips to Mexico Beach, Appalachicola, Cape San Blass, and St. Joseph Memorial park. We rented a boat 1 day and spent the morning on on Saint Joseph Bay. The price was great and I think the place was probably about as good as houses twice and 3 times the cost. Wonderful place!
