A lovely place for those who want access to Port Townsend (20 minutes) but also a serene and natural bayside setting. Gracious host, beautiful grounds, and thoughtful design - would love to return!
We loved this lower level apartment when we were heading through Port Townsend. Great view of the water. It was a little walk down to the water but we did it a few times. We enjoyed our stay.
The apartment was beautiful! The artwork photos were absolutely stunning. House is built on a steep incline and gives you amazing view of the mountains and water.
We really loved the access to the beach and the general scenery. It was also nice to have a full kitchen. The brown/sulfuric water from all the taps was not a great experience and we decided to go buy our own drinking water to drink, cook and wash teeth with. There were also multiple very large spiders and small sugar ants in the apartment. The parking space for two cars was nice but it was a good 50 meters uphill on a gravel road to walk to the door so I was glad I didn't bring my elderly mother.
Finally, the plastic mattress protectors on the matresses made sleeping hot and uncomfortable. If you could get the apartment fumigated (nitrogreen can put a protective barrier around the outside of your home) then change your mattress covers to normal and add filters on the faucets in the bathroom and kitchen, we would be back.
This property has a beautiful view which makes up for some lack of cleanliness and just general vibe of the place. The quality of furniture could be better, one of the twin beds you can feel the springs, and the couch is a bit stained. For the price however, Iâd say it is a good deal. It is in a neutral place between sequim and port Townsend on either side with it being about 15-30 minutes from each. Highly recommend spending a day in port Townsend, it is such a cute town with great views, food, and goodies.
Beautiful area and lake view! Accommodations were nice. I would recommend a cleaning of the washer, as it had a strong mildew smell and so we chose not to use it for our laundry.
We appreciated finding a booking at short notice. It was a lovely view. Parking was at the bottom of a very steep hill. The "beach" was through a weed-filled path. The details were not there...for example: tiny and large spoons, no medium/normal. Coffeepot filter (should have been thrown out). Frying pan that needed to be thrown out. No good one. Master bedroom chair cushion was badly stained. Shower had no mat or safety bars and was slippery. Needed a deep clean (molding dust never cleaned). On the surface it was OK.
No communication requested with Property Manager.
I do have to say it was a beautiful view, place was clean but a bit stark. We found the water tasted and smelled fine.
We arrived after dark so the parking located halfway down the steep drive was a bit inconvenient as my husband has an ankle injury.
Our main issue was that you canât enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. Not unless you drive 5 miles to the closest gas station or pack your own kcups. There was a basket with a single coffee pod and a can of regular grounds - no regular coffee maker and no pods sold locally. I verified with the property manager and the responses were âYes, there is only a Kureig, please let us know if you need help in anything.â & when I asked why only a single coffee pod for 4 guests and 2 nights âI am so sorry about this, but we are unable to provide it, as this is an in-home supply we do not provideâ.
Definitely be aware if you plan to wake up and enjoy that liquid caffeine bliss looking over the water, it can start your day off on the wrong foot for sure. Pack your pods folks!
Our stay was everything we were looking for. Itâs such a beautiful & peaceful property. It made for a perfect launching point for our Olympic park hikes & to explore the area.
We had a great experience at our property. Loved the rural area and beauty. Special items from the host was nice and the property was clean and updated. We enjoyed our stay!
Secluded and quiet. A wonderful retreat. Perfect for relaxing and recharging. Comfortably and tastefully furnished. Especially liked the access to the sound.
This elegant VRBO is pretty far from Port Townsend but peaceful and quiet with beautiful water views.
Since we were visiting several islands and beaches it turned out to be a relaxing place to return to at the end of the day. It was extremely clean and well organized. I only wish there were proper wine glasses, a corkscrew and a large bowl for serving salad. Also, the twin bedroom door doesnât close easily and is hard to open. Otherwise the apartment was lovely and I would definitely return!
This rental worked out great for our long weekend near Port Townsend. The view is outstanding and the location was quiet. I would only add a comfy blanket for the couch and a spatula for the kitchen.
Lovely views, clean and comfortable small 2 bedroom. Additional bonus was the artwork of the owner, a world renowned photographer and artist. Also, a small private area to sit and look at Discovery Bay. 7 miles from Pt Townsend but an easy, traffic free ride to town. Pt Townsend is great to visit.
