Secluded and peaceful! We spent our 25th wedding anniversary at this little cabin on the pond. Such a great spot to enjoy the birds, fish, and frogs. Mornings were spent drinking coffee while kayaking and the days and nights finding ways to beat the 102 degree heat. A few suggestions for anyone staying here in the summer: 1. wear water shoes to keep some of the mucky bottom of the pond off your feet and for general walking around the immediate property. 2. Flip flops aren’t the greatest here because the terrain is very slopped, slippery pine cones/needles, and generally uneven ground. 3. Bring a battery operated fan or three or a small generator to use the outlets for fans. 4. We brought a Milwaukee Tools M18 Rover Compact Folding Flood Light w/USB charger as the gas and solar lights are limited. You’ll need extra light over the stove if cooking in the darker hours.5. If sleeping on the sofa bed, bring a thick mattress pad! Horribly uncomfortable. Not sure the existing mattress could be considered a mattress. 6. Personal preference: bring your own water if you don’t want to boil pond water for dishes or refill shower bags with the same. Lugging water up the steep incline from the pond isn’t fun, IMO.You can hear other nearby houses and traffic coming from the main road but nothing disruptive. 1-2 bar cell service in the event you need to stay connected to the world. I advise against that! Great location to reconnect, rejuvenate, and relax! We’ll be back!
